I actually had a sort of idea for a story. I doubt anybody will like it... Anyways, I only have a small part done. I'm not sure if I want to post it in small sections or all at once. Probably the former.

What's stopping someone from entering a piece they wrote before this contest started?

If you're okay with that, that's fine, but if you want people to write specifically for this thing you probably should require a certain theme.

Okay, guys, you know that some people can't write for every genre, right?

A required theme would kinda suck.

I'll say that people can enter pieces of writing that are less than six months past dormancy (when the last update was made). If the writing piece was never finished, then the person must continue to update it in a regular manner with their entry into this contest.

Also, no specific genre. I don't like putting limits on creativity.

Oh, I didn't mean a genre. Themes can be as little as one word. Like, if the theme is "yellow" or something. You just... write whatever is related to yellow. Can be anything, the color of a character's coat, or that the story is of a banana that decides to become a pirate... etc. Stuff like that can be any genre.

It's just a better way of making sure people aren't nabbing something they wrote 2 years ago for a different contest and using it again and as someone said earlier, levels the playing field a bit. (though I guess you could always adapt the story and "cheat" anyway).

But yeah, um, just to clarify. And that was just a suggestion, not like "omg your doing this wrong!" I didn't think it hindered creativity, but rather kinda inspired it... but it's your contest dude. Whatevs :D

(and maybe this don't apply what with the six month dealie anymore)

Eh, I'll say that the optional prompts that I edited into the first post awhile back are enough for now.

I think everyone here is trustworthy enough that we don't really need anything like that.

I have a piece that needs a little more work, but I'd be happy to post it then.

Haha, I completely forgot about this thread for a bit, my bad ^^;;

Yeah, I still have all the old stuff for that, I just stopped having time to actually write some stuff. I think I'll get back on it this after classes are done. Is fun to write, actually. Thanks for the encouragement/kick to the head reminder to get it running again :)

And Disk? Just to be more clear than I was, I meant that by a small section I'd do a short story that took place within the antithesis universe, not just grab a random chunk out of what I have. Make something new and only possibly canon!

Sweetness.

Hey guys, we're nearly a month through this thing, and while I have some pretty neat entries so far, there still needs to be a few more before I consider giving out prizes. Remember that you all still have over a month left for this thing, which should be plenty of time to at least have a semi-solid plot made.

Good luck to you all.

Disk, I've replied to you that both my stories, An Abrupt End and The Fight The World Didn't Remember, will be my entries.

That kool wit yo?

What if our submission has Rule 6 violations and we link to it off the forum? It that okay, or should all submissions be forum appropriate?

Considering the fact that SOUL violates Rule 6 on several occasions, I'd say that's fine. :P

Legal double post.

There's about two weeks left in this contest, so if you have a writing idea (or thoughts about thinking of a writing idea) but haven't posted about it yet, think about doing it soon! Remember that the winner gets to have some slight fame by designing certain aspects of a major character within my novel Midnight Hunters, so that's kinda cool.

Legal triple post.

There's a few days left in this thing, so post what you have for your stories if you want in on this.

One day, Ace got up.

It was an average day, he ate Coco Puffs and played some Pokemon on his old Gameboy Advance. You know the Game Boy, the one that was all cool colored and you could kinda see into it, it was like kinda translucent...yeah that one.

As the time of day was approaching twilight, he passed by his computer on the way to obtain some Cheez-Its and Mountain Dew to feed his lazy self.

"Oh crap! I was supposed to write something for a contest!" he shouted (in his mind cuz that would be weird saying it out loud)

Ace turned on his computer and quickly opened a window responding to the official thread for said contest.

When suddenly!

The urge to watch a video of Ed, Edd, n Eddy edited to the Mortal Kombat theme song came upon him, like so many hunger pangs at midnight.

Ace urgently opened a new tab in his internet browser, Firefox, and satisfied his need.

The tab with his response was slowly lost, buried in a mass of new windows...

It became smaller and smaller until it seemed to be insignificant in his big plans for today's internet exploits...

Time passed...

When suddenly!

Ace noticed it was still open.

"Oh Lord I should get this, just lemme finish up this message in RT..." he said to himself.

When suddenly!

-Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop up window-

"Huh," said Ace, "I wonder what this could be..."

'Twas a PM from his friend Ninti! "How thoughtful," he mused, "I really should read and reply to this. After all, it's common courtesy,"

But as the responses went back and forth, he lost track of time and sense of self...

Ace was once again engrossed in something else, and the little tab with the writing contest on it was still open seemed to drift off and become just a memory...

When suddenly!

"Ok whoa seriously I need to get to this" he said, remembering what the tab was for.

So he hankered down and began to write about his daily exploits, hoping it would be enough to fool everyone into thinking he actually thought about his topic and wrote something poignantly.

When suddenly!

The story ended.

The End.

I'll look over everything in a bit and decide who won. I kinda put this on the backlog while I was doing other things.

I will try and get some form of a signature banner for the top three winners made in the coming days.
