So, yeah, I decided to make a forum map. The link above goes to the map. The size of each area is proportional to the number of posts in each forum. The capital city is the thread with the most posts that has been posted in recently.
I would appreciate your feedback, positive and constructive.
This isn't over by a long shot, folks, I can still add stuff.

Enjoy.

Heh, this is quite neat. It's an interesting way to put the Forum into a different perspective.

I remember that we had a map like this once, only it contained a bunch of tinier monuments and such that most people wouldn't understand nowadays. Maybe you should add Strawberry Fields? :P

I remember when we did an old one. Kidlet and Kidlette Forests and all that jazz.

I think Fun Polls should kind of be closer to the middle of the mountain range divider since it's like where the two sections flow into each other.

I plan to add more, and make it much, much bigger.
If a mod sees this, could they please give a couple details on the secret modmin board? (i.e. amount of posts, name of biggest topic)

The mountain range was originally a river, and its source lake was in Fun Polls.
By the way, the blue dotted line running down the middle is the Drama River. Regions west of the river and south of the Great Dividing Mountains are more prone to drama.

This map, as it is, is just a brief overview of what I'm planning for this.
I'm planning a forum atlas.

The Atlas should be made via a Google Maps-like system. Then I can plot the best route to Random Thoughts while saving the most gasoline.

Suggestions IS the Capitol City, this place is too small to be as big as you originally had it, so I made it to where several small boards were one city. RT is like three Roman cities with small villages scattered about. GTKY is made up of small tribal natives, All of Noobland is made up of tree-houses, Fun Polls is a dessert area with one big Gnoll city in the center. R&P is where the capitol city was once, but then Dragons and Missionaries invaded and forced everyone out. Now its a swamp ash land devoted to Christ. A&C is just a port city where hundreds of adventurers go through to try and make it to the big times. Most of them fail. Wiki Decision polls is where the old plague still resides, and it has been blocked off from use by stone walls, cataracts, and Hedgerows, and it is only accessible by adventurers willing to go through the under-ground mines under suggestions. Forum games is a giant dessert with faction-based camps around it, making it a PvP zone. Spam Vault is Firefly Island, and it will be opened to players in the next expansion.

WHAT??!!!

Can you read my mind or am I just picking up the internet through my brain?

I was just thinking today of making a map of forumopolis, except it would be a huge modern city with a massive central tower for RT and a lot of smaller towers.
It was going to be divided into sections by the different forums just like yours is.

Deja Vu....

Firefly Island is going to be an Instance/Raid Dungeon like The Caverns of Time in WoW, Where several great battles long past can be experienced.

Also, We need to work on Classes and we need more background into the lore of the land.

This is awesome!! I like COLA's explanation of the map a lot. It makes sense while at the same time confuses the crap out of me!

All speaking races are human, but the Gnolls in Fun Polls speak human, albeit terribly. Bandits tread along the roads between cities and states, making low level players hire escorts to help them travel, or joining a caravan thats going to or through to where you want to go. Bandits only attack if you are alone or if your party is smaller than four people, or if the party is less than 5 levels below themselves. Bandits attack in packs, usually groups of 5, and they attack on horseback. They rarely kill unless the prey put up a fight. Taking on a level 25 pack of Bandits alone at level 45 yields a 50% fending. Bandits do not tread around guard towers located some ways outside of cities, and they only attack on major trade roads. Mercenaries, however, attack anywhere they please. If you are wanted by any faction through out the continent, you can bet that a Mercenary is hot on your tail. Mercenaries are all high level, and they work alone and are faction-less.

The classes a player can choose are as follows:

Trolls: The Tank class, takes and gives most full on melee assaults.

Debator: The Caster, works on DPS since they can attack multiple points of view in one strike.

KB: The Healer class, is knowledgeable in all forms of cartoon magic and gains direct ties to Hammer space, allowing them to carry pretty much anything at anytime.

HK: Rogue class, can get in anywhere at anytime, even through the most scrutinized security.

LB: The Hunter Class, calls on his companions for aid, can deal alot of ranged damage, but lacks in the melee department.

Mod: HERO Class, Invite Only.

Admin: LEGEND Class, Game Designer Invitation only.

Purple Stuff: The Druid class, can be anything at anytime with the right amount of power. An Earned class, can only be unlocked due to flattery, bribery, blackmail, or just all around likability.

After the map is fully completed, you and I are making a forum RPG.
What do KB, HK, and LB stand for?
