Post subject:  The Next DVD...

I was thinking about it, and it already has me excited! What do you guys expect to be or THINK will be on the next DVD. What improvements would you like to see? Assuming there will be one. I'm pretty certain there will be though. :)

I'm guessing it would probably be strongbad_email.exe Volume 2. But I think it should have a bonus disc with just behind the scenes and special features stuff. Like for example of things they could include.

* Most of what they shown (if not all) at the NYU talk. Including...
- The Making of the Peasant's Quest Movie (or movie trailer)
- That Bubs thing
- The who can make the best animation on the plane contest results
- Homestar in NYU Puppet Stuff, etc.
- The How we make the characters Walk thing

* The Peasant's Quest Movie itself in good quality

*Behind the Scenes video footage. Like...
- At the NYU Talk
- anywhere else they've been
- The Making of Virus (or "The Death of Compy")

*A secret toon exclusive to the DVD. And changed or unreleased emails. (much like before)

*Something super secret and cool we can't guess.

..... Basically I think they should include a lot of the above. I think it would be pretty awesome. I imagine they'll make some more 3D menus or something for the DVD. Maybe one that is themed like Virus.

No matter what they put on it, I'm buying it. But I really want more than anything the PQ Movie and the Making of it. That would be terrific.

I loved the last DVD set, but I felt there could be even better features on it. This time I think they approached everything with this in mind. I'm excited. I wonder how long it will be?!

What do you guys expect/want to see? Improvements from the last DVD release?

Post subject:  What's a good stopping point - SB Email #150? #173?

I see a lot of strong arguments for the need of a second "sbemails" DVD in your post. Very nice. To answer the question you posed, I feel that the sequel to Sample of Style, reportidly played at the recent NYU Talk would be obligatory for such a release, as you mentioned.

I recall from an interview (I don't know which one in particular) that Matt and Mike were going to stop production of strong bad emails at some point. NOT THAT I WANT THEM TO - rather, I think that it would be much easier to draw the line on Volume 2 if there was a cease of updating Strong Bad Emails - like, perhaps at #150. Or better yet, some odd/random number such as #173, so us fans never get to see what an inkjet version of The Paper would look like. (Previous sentence to be read with a high degree of sarcasm.) :homsar:

I leave you now with a h*r store ad spoof I made back in November:

The next dvd that will come out will probably feature the toons instead of the e-mails. That's where I'm hoping for the behind the scenes work of the Peasants Quest Trailer, and another Sample Of Style type thing. And The NYU talk. I know that TBC said they want to make a dvd featuring the toons in the FAQ, so that's what I'm hoping will happen soon.

I really think the next Strong Bad DVD isn't going to come until there's 200 emails. In the meantime, I think we'll get an Other Stuff DVD with lots of toons and puppet stuff.

Mmm, I wouldn't mind a DVD set which had the non-email toons on it, especially if a) they did special edition versions of more of the older toons, and b) if they stuck Marshmallow's Last Stand and The Jumping Jack Contest on it

I have a feeling that Marshmallow's Last Stand and Jumping Jack Contest will be on it. TBC obviously know they're a point of contention with die-hard fans (hence the inclusion in both FAQs). And I think it'll be all the regular toons, which would be nice. Although I just thought that they might have (probably only one disc) just for all the holiday stuff. But I agree with IJ in that there won't be another SBEmail DVD until we hit 200.

Yeah, I've been thinking for a while that they should make a regular toons DVD for some time now. Let's hope one comes out soon.

The next DVD will (hopefully) be a set of like three or so. That way they'll have all the toons, including (hopefully) the shorts, the holidays, Jumping Jack Contest and Marshmallow's Last Stand. And maybe even TGS and Marzipan's Answering Machine, but I'm not holding my breath on those.
