They'd have to be careful which songs they chose if they wanted to do Iron Maiden. They tend to cross the line from fun to play to painful, in the case of The Number of the Beast's repeating intro and Run to the Hills' drum part. And Queen: totally yes, totally yes! Especially with vocals in there now, they really need to put them back in. All they have is the crappy Killer Queen cover in the first Guitar Hero, and that's not even a very guitar-centric song. I suggest I Want it All.

Random tangent about Iron Maiden: Last night, I was playing Risk, and one of my friends was talking about how the intro to The Number of the Beast sounds like When the Saints go Marching In, and just then, my other friend rolled three sixes. :P

Eh...I can't really see a The Who Guitar Hero. How would you play all the aweosme synth parts?

Same with Queen. Don't know why, I just can't see it.

CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN TIIIIIMMMMMME!
Seriously, listen to that song. The solo is an absolute facemelter full of guitar-effect-mastery.

Exactly. Getting off topic every now and again is kind of fun, but that went on way too long.

I hate these games. Waste of time and money (Unless you mod it to play the most hilarious songs like the pokemon rap).

they just need Queen...however, I think that they're having a hard time getting the licenced rights, therefore no songs. Remember Killer Queen in GH? Yeah, don't wanna see that happen again.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band aren't a waste of time and money. If it weren't for Guitar Hero and the V-Rock station in Vice City, I'd still be off listening to All American Rejects or Good Charlotte or some nonconformist bullcrap.

Yeah, it should be modded so it has more items.

Dont know if thats possible but that would be kinda cool I guess...

How was I trolling? I was stating my opinion and hatred for this game (unless modded to play hilarious songs, see poke rap and king of the hill theme song).

DIFFERENCE OF OPINION!!!

BTW, I wanna play someone in Wii GH3 today. PM me if you wanna have a go. I've finally got to the last tier of hard (after all these years) so yeah. Also might be able to use the 360 downstairs to play someone in Rock Band (or even 360 GH3 if that's what you have) but I've never tried that before so might take some getting used to.

Does anyone know anything about Rock Band 2 instruments?

I think that they'll all be wireless. That's all that I know.

I think I heard somewhere that they'll be quieter. If that's true, I'm definitely buying a Rock Band 2 drum set.

Entirely up to opinion, so your statement is equally valid as that of those of us who disagree.
Susan wrote:
The song lists are often not that great.
Same as above. I actually kind of agree, but it's good enough to still be enjoyable.
Susan wrote:
They make you buy so many damn guitars and drums and mics you don't have room to buy any other things for your house.
Depends on your house.
Susan wrote:
Its much funner to actually learn guitar because you can then play those songs anywhere you want.
Guitars are typically more expensive than these games are, and learning the real guitar is a lot of work and takes more actual talent than rhythm games. Sure, it is a lot of fun, but it's not for everyone. Rock Band and Guitar Hero let you have fun and play good songs even if you aren't very good, even if it isn't for real.
Susan wrote:
This game looks much better then all the others.
Opinion, and therefore perfectly valid, just like the two above.
Susan wrote:
At this point most of these games are just cash grabs and thats not cool. They be rippin us off.
To an extent, they are, but I think it's Guitar Hero that's more guilty of that, not Rock Band. It's not like they charge three digits just for fun; they charge that much because it costs them lots of money to make in the first place. But Guitar Hero has a tendency to make people keep buying stuff over and over because they don't do downloadable content much or work towards instrument compatibility.

Rock Band Wii disagrees.

In other news: why are we still on this subject?

I think that the announcement of quieter instruments were also in the original interview for the game. The Rock Band drums may be noisy, but I think that I'll pass buying another set of drums for a game I play sporadically.

There's going to be a drum set that will cost something along the lines of 300 bucks, but it will double as a real electronic drumset too. But that's totally an optional extra, and there will be a normal drumset that includes a reinforced pedal, too. The guitar will have a more sturdy strum bar and less clicky frets.

edit: check the expensive one out

I wasn't even aware there was a guitar through that whole song. And the ending chart didn't even sync.

Anyways has anybody played this yet? Don't buy it. IMO it sucks. It's got some good songs, but there are only 30 songs (including bonus songs) and about 1/3 of them are from Guitar Hero 3. But that's just MY opinion :p
