Don't worry, man. I've probably played more than you, and I still play on easy. Yeah, I'll go to medium when I'm good and ready, guise.

If you 5 star the final songs on Easy you're ready.

I'm getting 3, maybe 4 stars. I still need practice.

My favorite song on the third installment (fourth if you count "Rock the 80's) is "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine. Tom Morello did an excellent job on his battle song. Very challenging on medium through expert.

I found his boss battle to be easy, very easy, even on expert.

Besides, all he's using is a Digitech Whammy pedal and a killswitch. Heck, even I can that boss battle on my guitar.

Yeah, this is a good measuring stick. I'd say go for Medium when you can do this. It's a little more rewarding.

The jump from Medium to Hard is ridiculous for me, though. I can play pretty well on Medium but I should probably complete the Medium career before I try.

Try going to quick play and trying When You Were Young on hard. It's a pretty simple song to get used to the orange fret with.

What.

After you beat co-op career, it unlocks all the songs that weren't in it for co-op.

I did beat it.

I've looked over the list a hundred thousand times, but it's not there.

I asked Gamefaqs. One said I have to FC (No mistakes, entire song) 5 songs in co-op career to unlock it. Three said I need to "Jerk" to unlock it. When I asked what that meant, they called me a dumb noob for not knowing Obscure slang from the GH2 boards.

Sigh.

I still can't play Hard all that well. In GH, I'm stuck in the second to last tier at No One Knows. In GHII, I'm still horrible at Woman. And Because It's Midnite is...well...BIM.

edit: Jon, I read your topic on GameFAQS. I'm pretty sure all of those people were 12.

This might explain it.

Uh, I'm not sure I get what you're implying.

If you're saying that it's not on the list, therefore it's not it Co-op, then that's not right. After you beat Co-Op Career you unlock every song that isn't on that setlist...Except paint it black, apparently.

I think he means that it's not in co-op career at all.

Can't you just do free play co-op?

No such thing.

On PS2 version, anyways.

Wait, then what's that thing in the main menu that says "multiplayer"?

So I think we all have our own reasons to say that Neversoft sucks.

I played the Rock Band demo at Best Buy today. I couldn't calibrate the guitar right so I played the drums and it was freakin' incredible. It seemed pretty easy but there was no foot pedal set up so if I get the game, I might have to start on easy to get the hang of it completely.

I have a question. If I get Guitar Hero 3, should I get it for the 360, or the Wii?

The 360, only because you can download song packs.

But the Wii comes with the Les Paul guitar... and wits wireless...

You still get a Gibson, just an Explorer.

And hey, Funk you, Gibsons are better than those crappy Squire's or B.C. Richs all the kids are playing today.

This is true.

However, I play bass, and have neither of those, or a Gibson. I have an Ibanez and a Yamaha.

I chose them over a Gibson because the Gibson sucked. Point made.

Let's see...

360:
God of Rock and Grim Ripper
You can download stuff already
If you had GHII for 360 you don't need a new guitar

Wii:
Wiimote adds a lot of cool features to guitar, ie better motion sensing, and noise straight from the guitar
You can't download stuff yet
You need a new guitar, but the Les Paul is friggin sweet and a piece of cake to use

So really, I dunno. It's your call. As of right now, and I mean right this second, the 360 version seems a little better. But if they eventually start releasing awesome download packs for the Wii, that might be the better choice. Though hopefully they wouldn't make you pay for them.

Does it matter what kind of guitar the guitar is? All I care is if it works or not.

The X-plorer for the 360 was really jagged and one of the most annoying things I've ever handled. The Les Paul fits smooth on your leg and is just comfortable. Only downside is the shoulder strap is so small as to be strangling.

The controllers I have for PS2 are comfortable and I play sitting down so it doesn't matter that much.
