All the reviews i read said it was brilliant. We're probably from different countries.

In todays world, most Ameican animation isn't as good as what is used to be. I also prefer Japanese animation over American, but today I will make an exception.

Cars by Pixar was incredible.

I'm not going into detial, because you really have to see the film, but I will say it is a must see.

My rating for it is 12/13.

Oh, and my favorite characters were Pit Stop and Luigi. I loved the scene were they meet their hero. I would react like that if I ever met Isao Takahata.

I saw Wedding Crashers for the second time last night. Somehow, It's not as hillarious as the first time you see it. In fact, it wasn't very funny at all.

YES. There was a guy named Nightcrawler in the 2nd movie and he was awesome.

But I guess he got hit by a bus or something after that film, because he's nowhere to be seen (or even referenced to) in X3.

I saw Mission Impossible 3 last night. Good flick. Very intense with a lot of action, so I didn't get bored at all. Acting was good, too. I liked the characters and found the performances very believable.

Also enjoyed the little jab at Bush they decided to throw in there. Made me laugh out loud in the theater.

Yep. The opening scene of X2 has him teleporting through the Whitehouse kicking everyone's butt. Way cool.

I saw the Da Vinci Code the other day. It was alright, I suppose. It was a bit confusing, and didn't really elaborate on the parts that needed to be elaborated on. It matched the book pretty well, but the book was a lot better. Well, I suppose I never like movies off of books.

Lessee. Recently?

The Big Lebowski - Weird. But pretty funny. "I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me! Or Duder, or El Duderino..." Rated R. For a reason.
Love Actually - Neat. A bunch of vignettes that come together at the end, like in American Grafitti. (Or It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.) Also rated R for a reason. But yet all that R stuff doesn't come off as gratuitous. Keep an eye out for the 11-year-old boy. Reminds me of Funkstar if he was more innocent and less of a pervert. And lived in England instead of Ireland.
The Blues Brothers - Just watch it. Rated R for language.
Caddyshack - Hilarious, but rated R for a reason...... again. Featuring a good performance by Chevy Chase and fantastic performances by Bill Murray and the late, great Rodney Dangerfield.

It was? Hooray! I was hesitant about it, but not completely against going and seeing it. And since you are a very cool person, I'll take your word for it and go see it.

Like how I snuck in a compliment there?

I saw year of the Yao a few days ago. Awesome movie. We irritated the heck out of our Chinese teacher through screaming, "YAO MING, YAO MING YAO MING YAO MING, YAO MING, YAO MING..." over and over.

I wasn't on that bus. I watched Raise Your Voice, which despite sounding like the worst movie ever, was fun, because I recorded my own commentary.

MAN: I'm just scrapin up ma' barbecue...
DUFF: Mom, who's that guy at our barbecue?
MOM: I don't know, stay away from him, honey
*Kid enters*
KID: Hey, can I scrape that barbecue?
MAN: I don't think so. This is MY barbecue!
KID:Oh yeah!, Well...FIRE LOL!

I saw Cheaper By The Dozen 2 on the plane back from California. It was actually a lot funnier than I thought it was gonna be. I'm not saying it was great or anything like that, but it was waaaay better than I thought it would be.

Friday night, Holly made me see Cars with her. It wasn't that bad. I admit, I was a little afraid to see that Larry the Cable Guy was in it (he works in small doses, if at all, anymore), but I really don't think anyone else could have played the part he played. The animation was beautifully done (why I thought it would be otherwise is beyond me).
If you go, stay til the credits are completely over.

(The last two movies we've been to were "kids" movies.. I swear, the next one we see is gonna be either Clerks 2 or one of those "things explode for no reason with car chases throughout" type movies. I gotta redeem myself as the owner of a Y-Chromosome!!)

I just saw Everything is Illuminated.

It was, well, illuminating. (Warning: It WILL make you cry.)
It starts out humorous, but then takes a melancholy turn.

It's about a young Jewish man who has some obsessive-compulsive tendencies, wears boring clothes, and is a vegetarian. He heads to the Ukraine to find a woman who helped his father during the time of Nazis. He goes in a tour service with a Russian kid who mangles the English language and his allegedly blind grandfather. And a dog. (The Jewish guy is, of course, afraid of dogs.)

Just watch it. It's a great movie.

If you're still not convinced, it stars Elijah Wood...... wearing big ol' glasses. Like, old-fashioned horn-rimmed dorky glasses that all the girls just love...... if they're on Elijah Wood, anyway.

Holy Crap! The forum has traveled back in time to 1976!!!

Anyway, the most recent movie I saw was 'This is Spinal Tap'. I finally managed to get a friend who was putting it off to sit down and watch it. He is now very sorry that waited so long.

I also love me some Spinal Tap... though I was unable to find it during my latest trip to the video store. Not good times.

I, too, got fed up with being unable to find Spinal Tap at the local Lackluster Video, Lahi.. I finally broke down and bought it. I got a special edition DVD at the local Stuff-Mart for $10.. BEST DVD EVER!
