I'm 17, so I could get into it now. When it came out, I was underage for it.

I saw National Treasure 2. It was good; the only problem was that it was too much like the first one.

Oh, and I mentioned Superbad earlier in this post... Well I actually have seen that on DVD. I think a couple days before New Years'. It was pretty funny, and pretty awesome. It doesn't quite live up to all the hype, but it's certainly going to be remembered as a very funny movie for quite a while.

CGI was necessary for the scenes that included huge packs of mutants on the run, but when the camera goes close-up to focus on an individual mutant, and when you start giving the mutants personalities, CGI ruins it.

Really good flick though, go check it out guys.

Now here I couldn't disagree more. I always like CGI because it's gotten so AMAZING with what they could do. Actors in make up wouldn't have given the same "real" factor in my opinion (as weird as that sounds). Also, I didn't really see where they gave the mutants personalities.

Oh yeah, I've seen Walk Hard too... And I don't know... I might be alone on this but I didn't think it was that funny.

I just saw Juno. It was really good! The first few minutes felt they were trying too hard, but it picked up after that. The music references didn't feel as forced as I thought they would be, and all the characters are great.

Saw Charlie Wilson's War. That probably makes me weird, watching some film for GROWN-UPS when I am a 14-year-old boy and should probably be watching Pirates of the Caribbean or Superbad or something. Before that I saw Enchanted. Like Checkot, I was expecting it to be bad, and like Checkot, my expectations were exceeded. Oh, and I mentioned Superbad earlier in this post... Yes, CGI was necessary for the scenes that included huge packs of mutants on the run, but when the camera goes close-up to focus on an individual mutant, and when you start giving the mutants personalities, CGI ruins it. The mutant that Smith kept for research and the mutant that seemed to lead the others both should've been actors under heavy makeup or something like that. I'm a huge fan of Superbad and I think it's a downright fantastic movie. It has some of the best humor I've seen in awhile, mostly because the dialogue doesn't sound like it was written by some Hollywood fat cats in an office, the dialogue is natural. I mean come on, high school guys don't talk about the latest test or quiz, they talk about getting into parties and scoring. Superbad is a modern day Fast Times At Ridgemont High, or a modern day Sixteen Candles!

I just saw Superbad. It had fantastic writing and acting, I just felt it could have used a bit more in the editing department. The pace was a little too plodding.

I saw I Am Legend, Walk Hard (wait til a friend buys the DVD, then borrow it from him), and Sweeny Todd (not worth borrowing on DVD. VHS, perhaps) at the theater, then saw several films on DVD. Those films are (in no real order): Bingo Long and the Traveling AllStars (story of a barnstorming, black baseball team in the 40's), Stardust (sort of a chick flick, but good CGI).

This probably doesn't belong here but whatever. I was gonna go see Juno today 'cause I got some of those free movie ticket coupon dealies for Christmas but my ticket things were for Regal and Juno is playing at a Loew's theater. Funny thing is, last time I went to the Regal theater, they were handing out free Juno posters.

I just got back from seeing Juno and o llaawdd was that movie ever hot. I love Michael Cera and Ellen Page so much. It was such an adorable movie. C: I hope it has a soundtrack because the music was super hot.

Truth be told, I'm a huge fan of CGI too. But I really liked I Am Legend because it wasn't over-the-top and CGI heavy. It accomplished a lot and established its mood by not being that way. Of course, the barren New York city was created with the help of many visual effects, so maybe the film was CGI heavy... In my opinion, the leader of the mutants seemed to have a bit of a personality. When he unleashed the mutant dogs on Smith he seemed to know what he was doing, he wasn't just being a mindless killing machine. I don't know, maybe I just would have rather seen the mutants redesigned... I don't really know what I'm saying anymore...

Oh yeah, I've seen Walk Hard too... And I don't know... I might be alone on this but I didn't think it was that funny. It doesn't live up to the other films by Judd Apatow in my opinion. It has its moments, but I found Talladega Nights much more uproarious. The film is really just a spoof on Walk the Line and Ray. It also moves REALLY quickly, I guess that's because it tries to capture his whole life, but STILL! It moved way too quickly. Generally it was just too ridiculous as well (I saw some things I didn't need to see on the big screen). One up I have for the movie is its music. The soundtrack is awesome, go check it on out.

That's good to know. But yeah, it definitely doesn't live up to the hype. A lot of the jokes are big misses, Cox's experience with The Beatles could have been WAYYY funnier. And the jokes that were funnier ended up being overplayed and worn out by the end of the film! That's bush league! Oh, and I'm going to see Juno in a couple of hours. I'll be sure to report back here when I get home.

I'm PO'd about Juno. I could have gone and seen that for free before it came out, but I had some other plans and I was kindof expecting it to be really lame, since most of the movies with free previews available are. Now it's on general release and apparently it's really, really good. Ug.

We watched National Treasure 2 last night... Man, that was cheesy. Not bad, just really, really, really, really, really cheesy. I'd go see it, though, if you're looking for something to do on a weekend afternoon.

I saw Juno, and let me say that it was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Ellen Page and Michael Cera are adorable <3. The soundtrack was also really great, with songs from artists I already like (Sonic Youth, The Kinks, The Velvet Underground) andd introduced me to artists I'm going to have to get more from (Kimya Dawson, Belle & Sebastian). Everything else I can wait for DVD/On Demand release. These movies include: Walk Hard, Sweeney Todd and National Treasure 2.
