The CD Factory?

I've tried it, and I've gotten around five CDs and forty stickers in thirty minutes of playing on it. I'm just trying to find the CDs for Stickerbrush Symphony and that Path to the Ruins song, and then I'll be happy.

Oh, and it's a lot more chaotic and easy with a Curry FAST Brawl (or whatever it's called).

I like how none of the AI opponents acknowledge the existence of bumpers. Place on near the a edge of a stage to watch them K.O. themselves.

Also, Any custom stage with lots of spikes always ends up with the AI running into the spikes to get items. Apparently they don't know spikes=bad

I guess this is balanced out by how they will vigorously rape you if the Devil Trophy shows up.

Smashboards brought this up for the world record in the Homerun Contest (it's in meters, which is even more amazing)

This is also pretty neat.

That's a replay video. The "NEW REC0RD!!!!11!" doesn't appear in replays.

So let us discuss the rules for the future tournament.

No items obviously.
3 stock, best 2 out of three games
No Stages that affect players in a "oh god if I don't move out of the way I'm going to die" kind of way. Off the top of my head:
    -Warioware
    -Mario Kart
    -Rainbow cruise
    -Those stages with the Lava
    -Mario Bros.
    -75m
    -The Great Sea

And hey, how awesome would a Team Battle tournament be? Team Healers On maybe?

That could be cool. Maybe we could have two tournaments going on at once: one for 1-on-1 matches, and one for 2-on-2, obviously.

EDIT:

Ok, my personal list of Stages that I think shouldn't be played in our tournament:
    -Mushroomy Kingdom
    -Mario Kart
    -Rumble Falls
    -Pirate Ship (freakin' cannonballs)
    -Nofair
-Halberd (Maybe. The Ship doesn't really get in the way that much)
    -Spear Pillar
    -Port Town Aero Drive (Maybe)
    -Warioware
-New Pork City (Maybe, it's too freakin big and I don't like the sound of using a "throw enemy into instant kill demon" tactic)
    -Summit
    -75m
    -Mario Bros.
    -Flat Zone 2
-Onnet (maybe. It seems like 9/10 battles end in death by car)
    -Rainbow Cruise
-Big Blue (maybe again, it's pretty predictable)
    -Brinistar

Hm. So to paraphrase: Allowed stages

    -Battlefield
    -Fox destination
    -Delfino Plaza
    -Weegee's mansion
    -Bridge of Eldin
    -Frigate
    -Yoshi's island
    -Lylat
    -Both Pokemon Stadiums
    -Castle
    -Distant
    -Smashville
    -Skyworld
    -Hanenbow
    -Shadow Moses
    -Green hill
    -Temple
    -Yoshi's Island
    -Jungle Japes
    -Corneria

Wow you never realize how huge the roster of stages are until you type them all out.

Any comments?

My Comments in red.

3 stock, best 2 out of three games Should be four stock. Makes each match last about 5-6 mins. Also, finals should be best of 5.

Banned List:
    -Mushroomy Kingdom
-Mario Kart Agreed, but because walk off edges = cheap throw offs
    -Rumble Falls
-Pirate Ship (freakin' cannonballs) Easily track able and dodge able. Should be allowed.
    -Nofair
-Halberd (Maybe. The Ship doesn't really get in the way that much)Allow, same reason as Pirate Ship and Mario Kart
    -Spear Pillar
-Port Town Aero Drive (Maybe) Ban, too chaotic.
    -Warioware
    -New Pork City
    -Summit
    -75m
    -Mario Bros.
    -Flat Zone 2
    -Onnet
-Rainbow Cruise Its on a set course, nothing random about it. Should be playable
    -Big Blue
-BrinistarLava is dodge able, should be Playable

Hm. So to paraphrase: Allowed stages

    -Battlefield
    -Fox destination
    -Delfino Plaza
    -Weegee's mansion
-Bridge of Eldin Ban, walk off edges = cheap throw kills
    -Frigate
    -Yoshi's island
    -Lylat
    -Both Pokemon Stadiums
    -Castle
    -Distant
    -Smashville
    -Skyworld
-Hanenbow Ban, can run in circles or ever, ability to change platform hieght cheap.
    -Shadow Moses
    -Green hill
-Temple Ban, Can hit and run i circles.
-Yoshi's Island Not banned because cant cheap throw walk off edges.
    -Jungle Japes
    -Corneria

Temple should be banned. If it's a stock match, battles on temple will turn into hide-and-seek and they will NEVER END.

Right, well if walkoff edges are a problem Green hill should be banned too.

I don't see why hannen would be a problem, though

Hannenbow seems ok to me, I dont see how platforms that you can control the angle of are a problem.

I'm heavily in favor of items on except Golden Hammer and Stopwatch. This is a "for fun" tournament. Almost all of our Smash users here are casuals, and will be used to using them. I'd ban those two because they're too much of a gamebreaker (Regular Hammers can be countered much more easily), but I think everyone will have a lot more fun if all the other items are on.

I don't like the idea of banning stages either. If you don't like getting cheaply thrown off the edges of walk-off stages, don't go near the edge. If you hate "hide-and-seek" either dominate the hider or report it to me and the person who does it too much will get an auto-loss. Stages with obstacles seem to require more skill to play, as you have more to worry about than just the person you're fighting.

I realize that stages can be cheap, but please just chalk it up to "stuff happens" and don't whine. This will not be the only tournament in forum history. And, if we're going to do best 2 of 3 and four stock, there should be enough leeway there to offset "luck", if that's what you're worried about.

Actually, this whole debate came up in the discussion of a tournament in the Fanboys forum, in which the organizers wanted to put items on and a "tourney player" complained.

Quote:
And honestly, I set this up to be luck based because the way some of you play the rest of us will really need that luck. I don't want this to be heavily skill based, I just want it to be as fun as possible so that everyone has a chance to win.

^ pretty much my opinion

No mario or donkey kong though.

EDIT: Could we just turn off any items that pretty much guarantee you a free kill? Dragoon and Smash balls, for example.

I'd say keep the Smash Balls on, because while all Final Smashes aren't balanced, they can almost all be easily avoided with a bit of skill. Plus, they're not always guaranteed to kill you.

Dragoon is offset by the whole "collect the 3 parts" thing, I think. It's pretty tough to pull of in a 1vs1 match, because once you have two, the game makes you lose one like the next time you get hit.

I've been in the Final Smash quite a few times, and I've probably only died once or twice from it. It's also possible to avoid being placed into the pot, though I haven't found out exactly how yet (I've managed to get out of it several times).

I got one the first time I used it. I thought that the Golden Hammer was just a joke item at first because of that.
