You can go ahead and set it up instead, Acekirby. It's just when I said it was time for you this list up a week ago, I got absolutely no response from anyone and was a little worried. I figured with the duedate only a week away (April 5th), I'd need to take matters into my own hands. If you still have plans and want to form a better team, feel perfectly free to disregard my list. I'd prefer you get the best of the best for a good fun tournament. Just get it set up pretty quick, okay? If we have to delay the dang thing, fine, but I'm hoping that won't happen. Also if there isn't enough room... we could possible expand the tournament to 10 vs 10. But that'd be spreading the fanstuff forum side pretty thin, it's a small tight-knit community there. Definitely couldn't get any higher than that though. |

Maybe we should each (us & fanstuff forum) have our own 10 person tourney, and then #1 from each fights, #2 from each fights, #3 from each fights, and so on. Then the team with the most wins, wins. |

Besides, being an elimination tournament, I'm sure the best will rise to the top anyway. Also to recap, here's the way the tournament will work: - Absolutely no stages, items, characters or techniques banned; items set to low(?) - 3 (or 4?)-stock with no time limit; best two out of three for opening rounds, will increase later on - Opponents pick character and stage blindly from opponent, no restrictions in character selection: play the same guy every round or mix it up as you please - Players will be paired randomly in an elimination tournament - It has to be 8v8 as the math won't allow any more until 16, also we can't have a loser's bracket so fight to the death Also some awesome person with a little extra money should totally make things interesting by offering a free virtual console game as a prize for the winner.

The only problem I had with the "first come first served" setup was that I don't think all of our best players were represented. Neither DG nor Susan were in it, Jon and I (sorry if that sounds arrogant, but I think I'm pretty good) weren't in until the very end, and Kerrek, who is supposedly good (haven't played him yet so idk), wasn't in it at all. |

I think we can all agree that DG, Susan, Kerrek and ExJon should be in the super team. Since there are such a limited number of spots, I think we should try to get people that "represent" the forum - people who've been here for a while and come a lot. Thus, I think we've got these people to choose from Ace Beaums Color Printer Cleverdan Disk Iki JTH Ju Ju Rusty Greg I'm not sure how we can narrow it down from there, it seems like a few too many people to do any sort of easy narrowing down. |
