Why is Marth so incredibly hard to beat in classic mode, but such a complete wimp when I try to use him?

Also, why are the characters I hated using so much better than my old favorites?

THEY CHANGED SOMETHING!!! GRAH!!!

This adventure mode is pretty fun.

Shadow Scythe beat me. I blame lag.

I know you said not to, but I'm going to whine about it....after about an hour of starting and stopping because it came to complete standstills and disconnected us 4 (four) times. Eventually, we managed to slog through three matches, and he exploited the lag enough to beat me in two of them (he won first, then me, then him, all on battlefield...he apparently turned items off for the last one too.)

I'm not BITTER.

Uh...if your lag was THAT bad, weren't you supposed to disconnect and tell about it here, so we could switch your opponent up?

I wanted to be able to finish with him..each match we would get to play for a little longer before it disconnected...and whenever it disconnected, I was ALWAYS WINNING. I wanted to finish the matches so badly...and after the lag caused me to pwn myself in the first match, I mean, the rules say it was too late to quit then, so I had to keep going....he got lucky and won. I'm sorry if I'm like, super-pissy about it, but I 'bout destroyed him like four times.

And what would happen if I got a different opponent? Someone else has to deal with him, or what? The guy who got his opponent taken away might be ticked, too.

EDIT: Holy crap, we have an auto-censor now?!? It changed "super [censored]" to "super tick" for some reason.

Edit by Ju: Then how does it make any sense to try to bypass it. We have the censor for a reason?

I'm disappointed at the lack of ROLLING AROUND AT THE SPEED OF SOUND in the soundtrack.

Marth's kind of weird to use starting out. I had a lot of trouble with him in Melee, but he seems better this time around.

They nerfed some people and made some people stronger. Peach was totally nerfed. Mario sucks now. Kirby and Pikachu are better.

They changed a lot of things. The game mechanics are tough to get used to at first.

Samus is a prime example of what I was talking about. I loved Samus in Melee (probably my favorite), but now she's not that great (also, how does Zero-Suit Samus not fall over? You know what I'm talking about... More like Silicone-Suit Samus).
Pikachu was my second favorite, so I like that they improved him.
Kirby was another example of what I was talking about. I HATED Kirby on Melee, but I can totally clean house with him now.
Also, did they nerf Mario? I actually seem to be doing better with him now.

Yeah, Power Suit Samus got a little nerfed. ZS Samus is pretty good, though. And I too love the fact that Kirby is better in Brawl. It made me sad to see him so bad in Melee, when he should be awesome.

Mario got nerfed if you played a lot as him and got used to the mechanics. Also, if you play as Luigi a lot (like me), you get used to his controls, which are somewhat similar. Mario's addition of the Fludd and movement of the Mario Tornado gimped his moveset a little (I keep trying for Tornado and keep getting Fludd >=( ). Coincidentally, Mario is my Disaster Master (most losses in Brawls). I've played 4 matches with him and lost 3.

Lol. Yep, she sure is...curvy.

I have no idea what possessed Sakurai to make Pikachu's Down+B attack stronger. I mean, jeez, that attack did not need more power.

Yeah, kinda saddens me how they weakened Samus so much.... she used to be my best character, with Kirby in second place, but now since they made Samus lamer and Kirby better Kirby took first. I'm glad they made Kirby cooler and all, I actually kinda wanted to make him my best just so I could be all "OOOH! YOU GOT PWNED BY KIRBY! BOO-YAH, BIZZATCH!" But now I can't really do that anymore lol... But really though, why did they weaken Samus? She wasn't too fast, wasn't too strong...what the crap was the problem?

I'm not going back to update any old lists, but basically a certain member named Tommyspud disappeared a few days before the tourney started and hasn't shown up since. He's had long enough and now he's being replaced with another guy named JeRM.

JeRM - 1075-0433-1972

That's your new opponent, DS_Kid. Hopefully you two will be able to arrange a battle soon.

By the way, other than those two, we are still waiting on:
RUSTY vs. THEDENZEL
SCI-FI GREG vs. DINOSHAUR

And then we'll be able to begin Round 2, which typically go by much faster.

Best cutscene of the whole Subspace Emissary!

Nah, I'm joshing. But seriously, Zero Suit Samus is actually a pretty decent character. I would never main her, but I enjoyed playing as her in the SSE and she's worked pretty well for me in brawls. I also agree with the fact that Mario got duped in Brawl. I mean come on, F.L.U.D.D.?! Come on! Luigi definitely surpasses his older bro in Brawl. I've actually been maining Luigi for awhile now... I just hate how his green fireballs can only travel in a straight path...

And I'm sorry but Pikachu's increased excellence in Brawl just makes me even more annoyed with him. I'm sorry, but I just can't stand Pikachu in Smash Bros. He's such an easy character to spam with! X-(

It also seems like the thunder doesn't start as far up from Pikachu anymore. So it isn't always stopped by a platform overhead.

The main issue is that it has signifigantly less ending lag than it used to. So while in Melee you could spam it and maybe it'd catch someone offguard and annoy them with Pikachu's voice, now you can use it so quickly that it actually became a legitimate strategy that is hard and annoying to beat, expecially in a mess like the With Anyone free for alls.

On this forum I go to, I was playing in an online tournament with a Virtual Console game as the prize against almost two dozen people. Nothing was banned in it though, as everyone's still working out what works and we have separate "casual" and "tourney***" tournaments.

So the first plays out on battlefield, and I just narrowly lose thanks to a smelly final smash.

I counterpick Mario Bros., a serious 1-on-1 match there. It was the most hilarious and epic complete failure of a match ever.

With everyone talking about characters who are buffed up/toned down, what's the general opinion about Ness? Better or worse since Melee?

He feels a bit stronger, I don't know.

But if you're playing him online and you get the slightest hint of lag, say goodbye to your recovery

Yesterday, my friend and I beat ALL event challenges. The last co-op one took us about an hour.

Hey, if anyone still cares about how I'm doing with Melee, I finally managed to get the Crazy Hand trophy today! Beating Adventure on Hard with no continues... it's incredibly dificult. I used Kirby, and it took a LOT of attempts. But today, I actually managed. WOOT!

Now I need three more Melee trophies until I have them all: Food (6/10 of the way there), Celebi (All I need to do do unlock Celebi is to get 5000 KOs. Around 27/50 of the way through doing that). and Diskun (All I need is Celebi Catcher...uh yeah).

Since I've done all the hard bits, I can finally stop asking for hints about Melee. Thanks, everyone who decided to help.

There's very little like playing Brawl for two hours after spending four days studying for an exam.

Yay college! Wootness.

He's definitely been largely improved from Melee (a la Kirby), but he's been largely overshadowed by Lucas, even though they play completely differently.

I have to admit that I'm also guilty of completely ignoring Ness for the new kid.

Come on it's time to go do the Mario.......that move would pwn.

Dude, that Nintendogs helper trophy is EVIL.
I was playing in Classic mode last night and one of the computer characters got ahold of it.

Evil has never been so unbelievably adorable.

Nintendogs is the most useless Assist trophy ever.

Isaac is one of the most awesome.
