All the hype died after the American release, though.

I alrady know every character and stage, though I've somehow managed to avoid SSE spoilers. I guess I'll have fun playing it, but it's no longer the "OH MY GOD MUST PLAY BEST GAME EVAAARRR!" game it was before the American release. Bah. I hate Nintendo of Europe and their arbitrary release dates.

WTF? Today's the 25th! You posted this tomorrow! (The thing said it was posted the 26th!) Scary!

That's funny, because everyone hated him when Wind Waker was first announced.

Yes, but then people realized Wind Waker had the best storyline of any Zelda game, and was pretty fun, to boot.

He's brilliant in Brawl

I have Brawl now!

One problem.... "Unable to read disc".

What the heck? Did this happen to any of you? What did you do about it?

There was a whole error like a month after brawl came out here , if your Wii is dusty, it can't read dual-layer disks. Send it into Nintendo and they will clean it out.

Yeah, I did a bit of research... it's really stupid, if you ask me. It can't be because of a dusty lens, really now, can it?

I'm speculating that the older Wiis weren't built with the capability to read multi-layered discs, and Nintendo will replace the laser thingy with one that is able to when I send it to them.

Do you think Nintendo could accidently erase my save information? Like, they were tinkering around, when one of their co-workers shouted "BOO! Surprise!" and they dropped a tool in the Wii and it got ruined forever and I'll have to do everything all over again...do you think that could happen, or am I just being paranoid about my belongings being in the hands of strangers? ...even if the strangers are Nintendo.

I just can't bear the thought of two weeks Wiiless... Well, I can... I'll just have to play more DS.

Don't worry, I sent my Wii in for the same reason (well, mine was actually worse; none of the games would work) and it's fine now. But if you're still worried, put your save data on an SD card and keep it with you. If any data gets erased, you can just put it back on. I hope that helps.

I bought my Wii on launch day, and it has always played Brawl fine.

First off, look around Google to see if there's any manual methods to clean out the disc slot without voiding the warranty/ruining your Wii. If that doesn't work, link your Virtual Console and WiiWare games to your Nintendo site (I'm not sure if that system exists outside of America) and back up most of your games to an SD Card (online-enabled games cannot transfer to SD Cards).

That is entirely not the case. I had that problem when I first used it, and so did my friend. Neither of us have sent it in for repairs, and now it's working perfectly. Just keep trying to run it. Eventually, it should read. If the opening skips, don't worry about it(yet). Keep doing that untill you are able to keep it running long enough to get in a few Group-Brawls. DO NOT DO SOLO OR IT WILL FREEZE. Now, that you have a few coins, play the coin launcher. Once you get bored, just leave it there. If your lucky(and you have my Wii) then it will magically start working. It was different for my friend, though. For my friend, he just go the error once and it never crashed again. ^-^

Ok, so I'm trying to upload my Smash shots.
Image
I go to the SD card. (It's not the Wii one, it's a regular 2Gb). I see a "DCIM" folder (vacation pictures) and a "private" folder. I click on that. I go through a series of folders till I get to "al" and there are "BIN" files in there. There are 14, which is how many shots I have. I click on one and get this message. Will it mess up my computer or am I overreacting? And if not, what do I open it with?

A couple pages back, Disk has a link to a site that does it all for you. Just hit back a time or two and you'll see it just fine ;)

YouTube poop!

Sooo...
where DO I find my snapshots on my SD card? Are they in the folder "al"? Cause, I used the decryptor, and the file was unreadable! What gives?
BTW: Whys come it converts to JPG? Why not PNG?! I don't like lossy files!

I got bored, so I colored in metal Link.

Some of the colors aren't very good, and I rushed on the sheath. But, I like it.

I can't play Brawl yet, but I'm taking a guess with what I know from Melee: Tap the B button a lot while doing the move and see if it works.

You have to still have upwards momentum or else it won't take you very far. Use it right after your double jump (as you're still going up) to get a massive recovery boost.

Okay, so I have sent my Wii away today to get its laser cleaned. I hope it'll not take too long, as I still have never been able to play Brawl!

And I can't even play Melee while waitting, as I don't have the Wii to play it on. I don't own a GameCube.

I'm sorry, man... You've had to wait so long... I wish there was something I could do... but there isn't. So I'ma go play some "With Anyone" matches.

Oh yes. I totally need to play you when you get it working, too.
