I don't think that they would replace Ness with this loser. Ness has been with us since the beginning, why would they kick him out now?

Wait wait wait, has it even been confirmed that Ness isn't in it?

I mean, why would it talk about his fighting abilities surpassing Ness if Ness himself weren't in it? And jeez, if they're going to keep Ice Climbers, they better have Ness.

It hasn't said Ness isn't in it, but this kid looks very similar to Ness, so it might cast doubt on him being in it.

I don't definitely think Ness is out, in fact, I think he'll probably still be in, but I don't like that this guy was confirmed before him.

This isn't a 100% "Ness is out", but Lucas was supposed to replace Ness in Melee. Then something happened (perhaps Mother 3 not being in the US of A) and Ness stayed. Maybe this is what is happening.

In all honesty, I'd rather have just Lucas than have a clone.

No, Luigi will definitely be in the game. He might not be revealed on the site because he (and Jigglypuff) will probably be unlockable characters again.

No, since Roy is a random guy from the middle of the series. It'd actually be akin of Ike replacing Marth, and Ike having the exactly same moveset and such as him.

Not terribly picky with my Earthbound characters as I've never played the series, but they seem fairly interchangable, and neither of them look particularly cooler than the other. At least this one doesn't have an awkward backpack weighing him down.

Maybe if Ness wasn't so completely worthless is Melee I would care more... where's the powerful N64 Ness we knew and loved?!

Although that would be cool, they already have Mario and Yoshi, so I sincerley dout they will put it in. Maybe as some cool combo final smash thing, but not as a character.

Ness will be in. He mentioned "being more powerful than Ness" so Ness will probably still be in. He wouldn't have mentioned him otherwise, lest he was saying they planned on a replacement.

Except that it wasn't really much of an "update", since all it did was basically state that Snake has a stage, as was always expected.

Yeah, sucks when updates only have a new stage layout and a double update containing four movies of Snake.
