Probably not. My roommate is awesome at that game, and he can't even do that.

If you could, you wouldn't be an amateur.

I wonder if the guys who made GH3 know that they have two guitarists that play that song...

There's a lead and rhythm part on that song.
I'm gonna learn to tap the intro this weekend. I'll get videos up when I finally beat it.

I think that Activision is currently fixing a bug in the game that allowed sound to only play in Mono (instead of the advertised Pro Logic II), meaning that they're probably holding back on shipments in order to replace the games of people who already bought it.

EDIT: I believe that the new shipments/replacements come out later this month, though you may want to check a place like IGN for more information on it.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the tip holmes!

OR get five people to tap each button separately.

Except I'm actually good at the game, and I don't need other people (AKA: I have no friends).
I did a quick run through on the song today, just to refresh my memory (I've been playing more Rock Band as of late), and I hit 83% of the notes on practice. Still couldn't make it past the intro when I tried. I started the whole tapping lesson today, and man. It's hard stuff.

Working on medium, just finished Japanese tour and bought Metalhead, yay!

I used to be really good at Medium on Guitar Hero, but after a several-month hiatus between playing Guitar Hero II and III, I lost a lot of my skill. Now I'm back to struggling with a bunch of higher-tiered Medium songs again.

Extreme craziness ensued when I competed against my step dad in Pro Face off on New Years Eve though. Trying to get the highest score possible on Through the Fire and Flames on Expert was amazingly tiring. Thankfully, I beat him, but not in anything except Expert.

I never did give my opinion on Guitar Hero III though. Compared to II, I find it to be a bit worse, but it's still fun. It doesn't have as many good songs in it compared to II (Guitar Hero II got me into having more than 80 songs in iTunes), but it does have a few of my favorites in it.

If there any of you Wii GHIII kids, and you are interested in swapping your mono audio output disc for a new one, you might want to read this article for more info, and then click one of the links to go pre-register for it.

Comments at the bottom of the page are saying it's not that Wii GH3 doesn't have stereo as that it doesn't have the right surround sound. Personally, I'm not conscious enough to notice if my stereo's been working or not *shrug*

In another Article it says Activision's trying to talk Nintendo into finding a way to get downloadable content. I hope they succeed.

Author:  DS_Kid [ Sat Jan 05, 2008 1:40 am ]

Nintendo needs to make it so people can download and play things directly off SD Cards first. A three-song download pack would probably be at least 8 MB, and that'd fill up Wii's already-tiny memory really quickly.

I think I'm gonna speed up the bpm on 'One'. You know, so I can actually SEE THE NOTE ORDER for the solo.

Okay, I have to do it.

Guitar Hero 3:
Pros: The game is super appealing, very smooth, and pretty, shiny, circular notes. (On PS3 and Xbox 360 they look so much better though.) The sound track is really awesome, controller is easy and comfortable, two player is excellent.

Cons: Learning curve is beyond horrendous. The neck of the controller can cause some little problems. Bonus songs are disappointing compared to previous.

_____

Rock Band:
Pros: Customizable characters is really awesome. Set list is pretty cool, and the downloadable songs are really sweet. Multiplayer is some of the best.

Cons: Graphics are either covered up by music video styles or just kind of average. Not many songs, some are quite boring. Band World Tour can be a pain in the butt. Notes are ugly. Guitar controller is very plastic feeling, string thing it kind of annoying.

_____

My final opinion: Unless you have many available friends, or rely on online play, Guitar Hero 3 for single player. But, Rock Band for multiplayer, where the fun of being with your friends and rockin' out gets rid of all faults.

...:(
I got the intro to TTFaF down tonight. I was going through the song, after a successful intro run...I accumulated some star power. My rock meter turned red...I deployed it. The solo followed, and I got through Sam's Solo to the "What the...?" Part, and then I failed.
78%

Tomorrow is my day. I can feel it. I just need to brush up on the solos, and the star chart. I will have it beaten by the end of tomorrow.

Try playing it on an easier level a few times before you go for it. And remember to post a video for us :)

I'm starting to get better and better at Hard. I dominate Medium (all songs I play I get pretty much 100% or close to it, that doesn't count bonus songs or crap I don't like), so I'm starting to move on.

The setlist sucked,

That's the only thing in your post I disagree with. I thought Rock Band had a phenomenal setlist. Like...so good it was unfair.

But I agree, the guitar parts on it are really easy, though, if you're any good at Guitar Hero.

I need to get Rock Band and a PS3. Oh, and the bundle if there isn't backwards compatibility. After I have that, I'll just stay at home all day, growing increasingly fatter and fatter as I play Buddy Holly over and over and over again.

Post subject:  Re: Guitar Hero

If I did what Exjon wants to do (play guitar AND sing) I could spend probably a full three days playing Foo Fighters' Learn To Fly over and over.

Post subject:  Re: Guitar Hero

I'm gonna make an elaborate wire machine so I can play all of the instruments and sing at the same time. The mic will be suspended in front of me, I'll use my right hand for guitar, my left hand for bass, and my feet for drums. I'll probably kill myself.

Post subject:  Re: Guitar Hero

One of these days, I'm gonna make a Guitar Hero controller system with a camera, hooked up to a laptop, that you set up infront of the TV and set the camera dead center with the strum line, and create software that will detect the notes, and simultaneously play them with pin-point accuracy.

Simple set up, and the software shouldn't be too hard to write...
