Pokemon are the only animal-things in these worlds, correct?

If that's the case, then Nintendo still hasn't given us the identity of that tiny worm thing Pidgeotto is eating at 2:15 in the third episode of the show.

They show regular fish in the Cerulean gym, and mention real animals as food several times in the show. There are normal animals, but they're not very common.

I hate a lot of new Pokemon but Probopass is GODLY

Also one of the reasons I prefer the Gen 1 is because they look more like animals. Someone said "hurrdurr Ekans and Arbok look like snakes". Well, yeah. The fact that they look more realistic always played more to the "huh well this could be possible!" aspect of my childhood. That creature I just posted up there shatters any sense of possible reality this game could have. When the Pokemon start getting more and more "out there" it makes the game more distant from me than it used to be.

I prefer Gen. 3. I'm not a huge fan, but Ruby and Saphire were just the greatest. The pokemon were very creative, too, but not rediculously "Oh crap I can't think of another pokemon so I'll scribble on paper and see what I get" like 2 and 4 were. Gen. 1 was very un-creative if you ask me. Ekans=snakE and Arbok=kobrA? Squirtle was a freaking blue turtle with a curly tail!

But when before in the history of any video game, TV show, movie, or anything else has a turtle stood on two legs and spat water? It's old news now that Pokémon has been around for like twelve years, but it's not just what a Pokémon looks like but also what they do that adds to their creativity.

Aye. Many of the new ones just look like robots. Particularly the legendaries. A legendary can look organic and still intimidate. Just look at Mewtwo.

My thoughts exactly. Though I do agree that the newlegends suck.

Truth. I actually people at my middle school discussing that. One kid even did a Science Fair project on whether it would be possible to genetically engineer them. According to him cross breeding a monkey and a pig might make a Primeape.

Off the top of my head, I can think of animal-like newer ones...

Buizel, Pachirisu, Poochyena, Delcatty, Starly, Feebas, Houndour...

And I can also think of some very non-animal like ones from Gen 1:

Jigglypuff, Exeggutor, Muk, Voltorb, Magneton...

Hm. But I never actually counted how many of each "animal-like" and "not animal-like" ones there were fro meach Generation.

I don't get the hate for Magnezone either. It's a UFO-like Pokémon! What's wrong with it? Though I like Magnemite the best out of the three parts of the evolution, I can't see anything wrong with Magnezone.

But I also don't like most of Gen. 4. I don't hate it as much as I did 2, but I don't like it.
3 was best.
Then 1.
Then 4.
Then 2.

You hate Gen 2? That one's my favourite!

How could you hate good ol' Pokémon like Unown, or Sudowoodo, or Misdreavus?

Ok, Unown was good. But most were just full-blown crap, like the other two you just mentioned.

I hope that science fair project didn't get any ribbons, because that's not science, that's just random speculation. I mean, you can't expect a middle schooler to know that monkeys and pigs can't breed at all, but still...

Jigglypuff isn't animal-like? It has big, expressive eyes and cat ears! As for the "mineral" Pokémon, they're meant to be that way, and there's a limited number of them. A lot of the newer ones, like Palkia, aren't supposed to be mechanical, but look like they are.

Okay, I have to say... the designs for the newer legendaries are kind of weird-looking. I still like Palkia, though, even though it could have been designed with:

A better looking head. Even Strong Mad has more of a head than Palkia.
A better looking neck. Comes out at a sort of weird angle, and it's too long.
A better overall look to match its typing. If you look at this picture and were told to guess its type... you'd never guess it was water/dragon.

Hm. I still like Palkia, though.

I caught Porygon in the Trophy Garden today. Yay. I shall evolve him twice-styles.

Solution: in generation five, make a hideous abomination of a Pokémon with great stats evolve from Dunsparce and name it something along the lines of "Dunstrong." Or some other slight modification signifying an increase in strength.
