The first 151 are actually kinda boring in some of the designs. Like my grandma could have designed them. They are doing it for people like you though that don't like the other ones as much.

They're doing only the first 151 because these shirts are targeted towards adults, and adults are most likely to recognize/love the originals. Those of us who were six when the first games came out are now 18, and the fans got much older than six back then. There are almost no original Pokémon fans anymore who are still in grade school. It makes sense to only use the originals.

Some of them. When people mention all the new ones being uncreative, unlike the old ones, I invite them to compare Tangela to the likes of Buizel, Drifloon or Lucario. Sure, in general the old ones are better than the new ones, but not always.

They're not all going to be winners. There are great Pokémon and lame Pokémon in all four generations. There are just more great ones in the first one.

I kept thinking the wigglytuff from PMD2 was a chick for some reason

i really don't know how the guild lasted so long under HIS control, considering he's loopier then a hollywood contract.

Oh, and what happened to the charicters and places from PMD1? they never explained...That's what i hate about the pokemon series. the only game that thoroughly explained what happened to the charicters from the previous game was Gold/Silver/Crystal (they allowed you to revisit and reconquer kanto.)

The first 151 have more good ones then other gens? Thats just not fair. There are so many uninspired designs in the first gen (see ekans and arbok, I wonder who went to the zoo that day?) and its only loved so much because it was the first. Its just like every gen, they all have uninspired designs.

@poopskin: R/B/Y/FR/LG and R/S/E all take place at the same time so they dont need to explain what happened to characters as those events are happening now. Same goes for G/S/C and D/P/P.

@poopskin: What are you talking about, 2 people conquered the Kanto league while 2 conquered the Hoenn. Then a few years later 2 conquered the Jhoto League while 2 conquered the shinoh league.

But that still doesn't explain what happens to the charicters and places from PMD1...that may be something to contact ChunSoft/Pokemon of usa about. it'll propably be "you have to think about that". and i don't want to think about that, i like having a official (and thus canon) answer.

Well, they could, but they want to make them feel more standalone, especially since a big portion of their market might not have even been born when the older games were out.

On the topic of canon, here's my guess as to where priority for canon lies:

1.) Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
2.) Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
3.) Gold/Silver/Crystal
4.) Red/Blue/Yellow
5.) Other Pokémon trainer-based games like XD
6.) Anime series
7.) Movies
8.) Manga series
9.) Mystery dungeon
10.) Anything in the TCG
11.) Anything else

Actually, I've read some of those fanfics there....some are good. Some are just down right awful though.

I say that all generations of Pokémon have their super-cool ones and their not-so good ones. Except Gen 4, which has one single HORRIBLE Pokémon. I still can't stand that thing.

Examples of some cool Pokémon from newer generations:
Spiritomb
Electrike
Honchkrow
Ninjask

How can you say that any of those are not as good as Pokémon from Gen 1? They seem to be keeping a consistant style with their Pokémon designs. Strange animal things, basically.

Honchkrow is one of the few new evolutions of old Pokémon they made in generation 4 that weren't lame. It's pretty awesome. I just fear for what they'll make it sound like in the anime for when Paul's Murkrow evolves.
