Quality anime, not to mention MANLY.

Adult Swim just ended it's first run-through last week, and aired/is airing episode 1 tonight. I highly recommend watching it.

Beware! You will probably get sucked into watching the whole series. ;)

Do what he says. Watch the show.

DISCLAIMER: You may start watching other anime shows because of Death Note. It is the perfect Gateway Anime.

I don't typically like anime/manga, but I read the manga and I really liked it.

Just curious, is there any reason to watch the anime if you've read the manga?

^ I didn't read the manga so I'm not sure. I know there are some differences between them, which you may or may not like. It's up to you, really, but I'd suggest checking the anime out anyway.

Also, the reason I was sucked in so deeply is that Light is one of the most interesting protagonists I've seen. Both in character and actions.

Plus L is one of the best characters in any anime.

I saw one episode of this late one night on ABC 2. It was pretty good.

But now I can't remember when it was, and ABC 2 doesn't have TV guides for some reason.

Can someone (Jau or someone else from Australia) tell me when it's on.

9:30 every Monday, if you have an auto-recorder, make sure it records it.

Thanks Jau, I think I'll start watching it regularly now. (Hehe, that rhymes.)

I'll post my opinions tomorrow, or maybe Tuesday.

Make sure you start from the beginning. You HAVE to start from the beginning.

Adult Swim is showing ep 1 right now but it's like halfway through

I think the series here is about halfway through...

I would rather not have to go out and buy it or anything...

You can find the episodes on YouTube, I believe. They'll be in 3 parts per episode. Not to mention most are in Japanese (but have English subtitles so it's okay).

You HAVE to start from the beginning. I can't stress that enough.

If you don't want the Japanese ones, the episodes are shown on adult swim's website (I re-watched the first last night), but they change every time the episode changes, so you'd have to wait for a while for each episode.

I need to rewatch the series. I last saw it a few years ago, and Netflix isn't fast enough. D: I only saw the first four episodes so far...
Now I'm waiting for episode 5 to load on YouTube.

Ep. 5? I saw up to like... 15 or something. Then Divx closed down, and I only learned of it after it had already happened, so I couldn't download the rest.
I don't really watch anime anymore. It just gets to point where everyone plot line is so cliche'd. This is a really unique anime, so anime haters out there may like it.

I followed this advice, and DAMN.

That's some INTENSE stuff right there.

And there's no way I'm not watching the next episode when it comes on. Or I could go look for episodes on the Internet, if I decide I'm not too lazy to do so.

Do it, it only gets better till a certain point, when it declines somewhat, but not too much.

Seriously, it's probably in the top five shows I've ever seen, and like I said it got me into anime in general...

You guys might find this place useful.
It's how got to see the Japanese (read: good) version of the series. You have to download the episodes, and you can only get 2 or so a day, but then at least after that you can watch them whenever you want.
Great show.
I stopped watching after

I've heard it's a good show, but never got around to watching it. Apparently it's dragging on now near the end of the season. At least that's what I've heard.

It's amazing from episodes 1-25, then drags on for a while (but is still really good), then becomes INCREDIBLE in the last three episodes.

I've seen it both in Japanese and dubbed, and I kind of like some of the dubbed voices better. It's definitely not a bad dub.

I've watched two or three episodes. It's great. And the only other animes I've ever really liked were pokemon and yu-gi-oh, and they were six or seven years ago.
I refuse to read the manga, though. It's just so dang nerdy. God, I hate kids who read manga under tables during school. I just was to take it from them and burn it.
While on the subject of anime:
Inyuasha: I just don't like it. I can't get into it, even when I really try.
Bleach: Decent enough, I guess, but just way to hard to follow.
Blood+: Just no.

Holy hell man.

Episode 1 didn't totally hook me, but it left me interested enough that I wanted to watch the second one. But by the end of the second episode, I knew I had to watch the whole thing. I'm in the middle of the third one now and oh man. I just love the battle of wits going on here. L is a fecking genius and Light is almost as smart.

Taking the advice of Ace and Jitka, I decided to read up on the manga before I watched the next episode of the anime. Surprisingly, where I read up to is about where the latest anime episode was in the story. I was a little confused that Raito is named Light in the anime but I caught on pretty quickly.

It's so good, the story is so addictive. But now I really want to read the manga to find out what happens next, but at the same time, I want to wait until next week and watch the anime series instead. I don't know what to do...
