I'm over-hyping this and if it lives up to this over-hype I've built then it'll be the greatest movie ever. They're making the Joker out in such a way that seems far more appropriate than any other Jokers.

That's an excellent point. The Joker isn't a guy who makes bad puns and sprays graffiti everywhere. He's a dangerous man... an anarchist, murderer, diametrically opposed to Batman. It's why he's Batman's arch-villain.

Too often he's a non-threatening, funny fellow. Ugh.

I really want to see what happens to The Joker, though, because I think Nolan confirmed he wasn't gonna screw us over and kill him, but now that Heath's gone...

Then he's dead already.

You see, what set The Joker (Original Joker) apart from other batman villains was the fact that he could be a mass murderer and still make bad puns and jokes to show off his insanity. Its essentially what made him original back then.

Yeah, but none of the other Jokers outside of comics really showed that. The first Batman movie got closer than any others, but still not that close. And as much as Mark Hamill is awesome, his Joker was a joke. Good voice though.

There isn't even a good description of what makes a good Joker! Should we look towards the original comic in which he appeared in? Should we look to the movies, the cartoons, the original TV show? In all instances of the Batman continuity, its either in a city thats always dark, or a proud American city thats had an influx of criminals. But the question is, which one should YOU follow?

Hopefully this Joker is the one we should follow. And Goth City is both of those things, but which one it is depends on how far along Batman is in his career.

The insane viral marketing campaign is apparently related to canon? This bridges Batman Begins right up to the very beginning of The Dark Knight (which I saw, yay for leaks, and it is AWESOME and I'm pretty sure I posted it here)

edit: FUNK IT ALL I JUST SAW SPOILERS

Joker wins somehow even though I think his plan is breaking Batman?

Months and months ago, like maybe even in 2007, the first scene of the movie was leaked and put on Youtube as King Kamali at the Montreal Pro. Pretty sure it got taken down after a few days and I couldn't tell you where to find it.

Apparently, people that saw random showings think that The Joker is one of the best villains on film ever and that he does something called the pencil trick which is the highlight. Have no idea what it is but I bet it's awful if all these soccermoms think their kids are gonna have nightmares.

That was back to this past spring. April, i think. It might even be in the YouTube thread? That's where I saw it from.

Me too. I'm EXCITED. So excited I somehow managed to be up at 5 or 6, giving me like 3-5 hours of sleep. I think I'm gonna go watch some of the other movies and fall asleep during those.

My brothers friend is in this movie. He is an extra in the background in a scene, but I am not sure which one.
