Believe it or not, I'm watching E3,
I never thought I'd get in so easily,
Watching G4 in my beat up old chair,
What will I see? Believe it or not it's E3...

While E3 is still a much smaller event than it was pre-2007, a lot of games are known to be shown this year that get me excited.

There are already a lot of places that you can watch the conference live this year. G4TV and Spike TV have promised to offer the conferences commercial-free on television, and places like IGN and Gamespot will always stream the event live over the internet. You also have numerous blogs constantly updating with the latest news.

Microsoft's conference is tomorrow, and Sony and Nintendo's conferences are on Tuesday.

Since I've only been really focusing on Nintendo's E3, here is what has been rumored/nearly confirmed to show up this year at their event:
  • Wii Music or Wii Motorsports
  • Punch-Out!
  • Pikmin 3
  • Animal Crossing (rumored to be called Animal Crossing: City Folk by one source)
  • Disaster: Day of Crisis
  • Icarus

Nintendo is planning on showing their entire lineup for the remainder of 2008, so I'm really hopeful that we get some of the games mentioned above, along with a few neat DS games like Elite Beat Agents 2. Oh, and a storage solution. Please.

Since it would probably be better to have one thread compiling all of the best news of the event instead of 500 threads talking about game announcements, discuss the event in this thread.

Punch Out? As in Mike Tyson's Punch Out?

Yes; a sequel has been rumored. If it's real, it probably won't have Mike Tyson in it, though.

Then it's not worth buying.

I hope they're working on starfox wii! From what I've heard, the recent Starfox games have been utter crap! They'd better go back to the old starfox 64 days!
What I'd like to see:
* An "Infinite Mode" where you'd go on a looping track trying to shoot down enemies until you die while avoiding obstacles that appear at random
* Same thing but with all range mode
* A co-op single player mode (eg second player takes the place of one of your teammates)
* A little easter-egg where you can unlock starfox 64 quotes (Falco:"Shoot a torpedo to help you see!")
* A mode similar to the unreleased StarFox 2.
* Some kind of mode/level where starwolf is chasing you. EG: A normal StarWolf fight except you are still in corridor mode and you rescue your teammates from them just like normal enemies(but will switch from attacking your wingmates to attacking you after you shoot them)
* No onfoot levels

Bungie's hinted at an announcement of ... something tomorrow. Guesses and speculation are:
*New Halo game; Squad-based, Chief-free.
*Map Pack for H3, though why they would announce it at E3 is beyond me.
*New IP, possibly including the superintendent character that's been making its way around.

Also, Halo Wars demo. I originally thought this game would be terrible. It's growing on me, though. I hope they don't break canon. But with the announcement that the Flood will be featured in the campaign, I'm a little irked.

I actually liked Assault, I don't know why people hated it so much. Command was OK.

I really want to see a new traditional Star Fox, too.

Fallout 3 is looking pretty awesome so far at Microsoft's conference.

EDIT: Same with Resident Evil 5, though it needs some different animation from Resident Evil 4.

IGN, Gamespot, and G4 are doing live feeds at the moment. I'd suggest checking IGN for updates.

What are you checking? I'm looking out more for something to read as opposed to something to watch.

Nice, that's a really good one.

I'm also looking at Gizmodo, they're doing a great job themselves.

The new Xbox 360 dashboard layout is lame.

(Also, Mii ripoffs confirmed)

Kotaku's doing a good job covering as well. Just stay on the mainpage and hit refresh every few minutes.

No, it's only a map pack.

Probly to compensate that it's really difficult to get new maps on your Xbox360.

Nothing really good (to me) seems to have been announced yet. I'll keep on checking though.

Yeah, nothing big so far. The biggest things in my book are the Dashboard nonsense, and I know that fanboys everywhere will be all over the promise of more Portal.

Time to see how much of an awful cash grab GH is gonna be!

I wanna see some more stuff on inFamous. It's like Prototype but probably better.

Heh, was the Lips microphone the motion-sensitive controller?

I guess I'm not getting an Elite Beat Agents sequel. D:

Oh, and this girl singing right now is killing my happiness for this conference...

You guys are watching it? I'm just refreshing on Kotaku...

Hope we get some news on what that GTA IV DLC actually is. 100 bucks says it's just a few mission packs with Rodislav Bulgarin.

I'm expecting Youtube videos to be made of that Lips performance and their EyeToy thing.

Also, that guy from a few weeks ago was correct: most Rock Band 1 titles can be put into Rock Band 2.
