I dont want the wii to become like the DS.

Why does everyone always say things like this? Most games for the DS aren't gimmicky! Sure, there were a lot of games that were in the beginning of the handheld's lifespan that were gimmicky, but most games now aren't. Has the DS already been branded a gimmick?

Also, anyone who can make me a good Mii of Quote (From cave story) gets a gold star.

Also also, :eekdance: TOTPD :eekdance: .

How could they get past it? By not making it motion sensitive?

Certainly.
Many of the games make use of the stylus in ways that are pointless, or inconvenient. Like menus. Why would I really need a styls to pick something on a menu? Some games even have "Tap anywhere on the screen to continue", in place of the old "press start to continue".

And, as I already mentioned there are times in certain games that require you to use the stylus for little or no reason. It's a bit of an annoyance at times.

I said by not getting past their fascination with it.

I realize that, but it is a motion sensitive controller. Their "fascination" is coming up with innovative and creative ways to play games. No, I am not quoting Nintendo....maybe.

Four Swords was awesome.

You don't need four GBAs/cables to play multiplayer, You can play with 2 or 3.
That's besides the point. The fact is, they wont let you play multiplayer unless you give them an extra $100.
extremejon09 wrote:
You need the Gba so each player can move about independantly from each other.

And why cant that be done with a gamecube controller? I didnt buy the controllers just so that nintendo could tell me that it wasnt good enough, and that I should go buy something else with which to control my gamecube.

extremejon09 wrote:
And you only get the GBA screen on Single player if you Aren't using a GBA controller.

I know that, but there still is no reason for it to be a gameboy screen. It is just a cheap marketing ploy within a game.

Hurf, You don't understand me.

It can't be done with a GCN controller because a GCN controller doesn't have a screen. Now, if Multiplayer worked like Single Player and a GBA screen popped up whenever someone went underground, then that would suck. If 3 players each went into a different area, and 1 stayed above, then the screen would be 75% filled up with GBA screens, making it impossible for the aboveground guy to navigate.

...Marketing Ploy. Please take your Wild Conspiracies to Gamefaqs. They'll understand you.

Ok, If you're going to call it inconvenient, you'll need to give me a better example than that. Useing a stylus in a menu is easier than useing buttons. Do you use the keyboard to hit submit when you post on here?

question:
does the classic controller plug into the wiimote or the USB slots? never seen it.

During E3 2006 Nintendo introduced a Classic Controller, which plugs into the Wii Remote via a cord, similar to the Nunchuk controller.

okay so I added everyone so far and only jimmie has added me back. don't be shy folks.. I won't bite.

definitely some games use the wiimote well, and some use it poorly.

I am in love with wii tennis.. I feel like it gives me a tiny workout, especially doing the twist, so that's cool. zelda plays great. rayman raving rabits has been great so far.

monkeyball sometimes plays well and sometimes doesn't. the main game works fine and is actually pretty amazing, but many of the subgames are needlessly difficult due to poor controls where it's very difficult to tell where and how to point the wiimote-- like in ring toss where you need to point it forward, sideways and then tilt it up, but you can't really see where it's pointing, and then when you move it too far, it goes off the screen and looses connection. maybe I'll get better at it, but I found it to be frustrating and difficult.

similarly in paper sumo wrestling.. your hand flies all over the place and goes everywhere except behind your figurine, where it's supposed to be.

but the bird flying game is actually pretty cool once I figured out that you need to keep flapping your wings in order to prevent yourself from falling to the ground.

Has anyone played Bungie Buddies in Warioware: Smooth Moves?

It would be a really fun game IF IT ACTUALLY WORKED. Seriously, no matter where I keep the controller, no matter how high I jump, no matter how close or far from the screen I am, the character won't always jump and thus falls into a ditch or runs over a wooden board.

Then tell me this: Why did a gba SP screen pop up in single player mode when single player mode is the only mode that doesnt use a GBA SP? They could just have a little window pop up, or even make it full screen, like every other 2d zelda game, but instead, they decided to make a small little screen pop up with GBA SP written on it. Is it really "wild" to assume that they were trying to sell GBAs? No.

Are you aware that you can use the keyboard? It actually is faster than using the mouse. If you're too immature to handle the fact that my opinion is different than yours, then I dont really see the point in trying to reason with you.

OK, so I downloaded Kid Icarus for the VC because it's said to be a great classic game (I never got the chance to play it in my childhood). After playing it for a few days, I don't understand why people think it's such a great game.

Pit has wings, yet he can't survive a fall off the edge of my TV screen, and then I have to start from the beginning of the freaking level.
The password system is almost as horrid as in Faxanadu. Why didn't they release the cartridge version with a battery savegame system (Zelda was released in the same year, but I'm not sure if it was before or after Kid Icarus)? Heck, even the original Disk System version had saving capabilities (obviously thanks to the disk format), so why did they have to release a password-only cartridge version?

It's not exactly a bad game, but I wouldn't call it a Zelda-like masterpiece either.

Sacred words my eye.

Zelda was after, and they developed the battery save specifically for it. You're right though, I don't know why they bothered releasing Disk games on cartridges before they had the technology.

WiiCade.Com has figured out how to make Flash games use the wii's buttons. (Arrows keys, A, B, 1, 2, +, -)

I bet you that either:
*Someone will hack Stinkoman 20X6, edit it, slap a disclamer on it (CREATED BY TEH AWESOME BROTHER CHAPS, EDITED BY SO-AND-SO) and post it on WiiCade (but that would be potentially illegal)
*TBC will somehow get ahold of that kinda stuff, and use it on their on website.

Bad news? No one's released any games using that yet. WAH.

EDIT: There are actually a few games on there using it.

You don't. It's a script that you install into your flash game. Then you just change some lines of code in your game, and voila. It's Wii compatible.

I wonder how big the Mario Galaxy game world will be.

I'm guessing some of those HUUUGE looking planets in the background will be "world-sized" planets, but how large will the overworld be? Hmmmm...

Wiis are all a big myth! It's all a conspiracy! That's why I've never seen one in real life!!!

Seriously, my Wal-Mart sucks. It had three PS3s, a half dozen or so 360s... so where the heck were the Wiis? Do they like, never get stock of them? Four months after the release of the system... either it really is a ridiculously popular machine, or they suck at supplying them to Wal-Mart.
