I just bought pokemon BR. I'm waiting for my brother to GTFO the tv for me to find out what my code is.

It's getting mixed reviews (Most of which seem to depend on whether or not the reviewer is a pearl/diamond fan, and use those features a lot.)

Well, despite the lukewarm to somewhat good reviews it got, I think pokemon:BR is quite solid. I dont even have diamond and pearl, and I still like it.

I still wish that there was some kinda voice or text chat in the game, though. This way, it's almost like facing off against a computer... except dumber, but stronger...

Oh man, you need different friend codes for online play, Like in DS online?

Sux.

P.S: I just realized I saved over my "Have everything" Zelda TP file with my "3-hearts run" File.

F%&@!!!!!

Nintendo seriously outdid themselves this time. I know that they have always made pokemon games kinda feed off off each other, like how you cant get all the pokemon unless you link up games, but what they did with pokemon:BR is completely inexcusable.

Here is a list of things you CANT do in pokemon: BR:
-Level up your pokemon
-Train them in any way, really
-give them items
-Evolve pokemon
-GET POKEMON (That's right, theres only a few you can actually get without D/P)

We all know that companies like nintendo have occasionally tried making a little extra cash by trying to convince you to buy other versions of their games (Red+blue and such). While this may have been a minor annoyance to someone trying to catch them all, it is nothing compared to what happened with BR.

Basically, when you start off the game, you get a battle pass. You can choose one of two. They each have 6 pokemon on them, all of which are crappy first or second evolutionary level pokemon.

You can earn like 5 or 6 more battle passes, but that's it. Those are the only pokemon you can get just by playing pokemon:BR. It is absolutely impossible to win a wifi battle with any of them either, because everyone on wifi battle has D/P, so their pokemon kill yours in 1 hit, and you dont even get a hit off of them.

I dont mind that such much as the fact that nintendo said that player will be matched up according to skill level. There is no way that any intellgent thought was put into this "Matching up" system. How is it that I, with my crappy pokemon, get paired up against all sorts of fully evolved pokemon?

By the way, I said this a long time ago, but I'm going to bring it back up: When Brawl eventually does come out and (if, most likely it will) it's got WiFi availability, I'm going to start a "competitive SSBB league" here.

For future reference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_Wi-Fi_Connection_games

Anyway, I've been foolin around with Pokemon:BR. I found that it is possible to beat people online, but you need to set the rules in such a way that all poemon entering are the same level.

Still, I'd like to be able to at least teach pokemon new moves and stuff. It's really odd that you can buy TMs in pokemon: BR, but you can't use them unless you transfer them to DS.

Wow. That Bowser Final Smash thing is pretty epic, but GB looks more frightening in Brawl than he did in Melee. I think I'm gonna have nightmares.

That HRWiki competitive Brawl league is so awesome that it's just GOTTA happen. Although I think we would need rankings, because (for Melee at least) on a Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced/Expert scale, I'm somewhere between Beginner and Intermediate, and I know some people (like DG and Susan) would be Expert.

I'd be on the expert end of the scale, because it is one of the only games I play these days. I get a full 8+ hours each week (Usually more).

Regardless, however, I have heard that individual character controls are going to be different in this game, and many characters will handle differently in this game than in melee. I think this will put us on somewhat even ground for at least the first few days.

But I dont think we'd need a ranking system, since the whole point of the tournament would be to find out who's best anyway...

Okay, I just thought of the awexomest idea ever. You know how it's said that there is going to be at least one other third party character in Brawl? Well...

That character could be Pac-Man.

Okay, now ya GOTTA follow me on this one. Nintendo and Namco have worked together on games before (Mario Superstar Baseball comes to mind), so getting the rights to Pac-Man would be feasible. And Pac-Man appearing in a game with Nintendo characters is even more plausable because it's happened before. I believe it was the first arcade-version of Mario Kart. It was made by Nintendo and Namco, and one of the character's was Pac-Man (not to mention Ms. Pac-Man and Blinky), and this is a similar situation.

So in the game, it would have to be his 3-D version with the boxing gloves (obviously). For his B move, I think he would fire a stream of dots at you (either out of his mouth or out of his palm, I'm not sure). I don't know what his B-over move would be, but I think that for his B-down move, he would summon one of the four ghosts from the arcade game at random, and they each do something different based on what they did in the game.

But best of all would be his Final Smash. I imagine that Pac-Man would take his original yellow semicircle form, and the battlefield would become Pac-Man's maze, and all the other players would have to run around the maze with Pac-Man wakka-wakka-ing after them, and if they get eaten, it's a KO.

...Yeah!

Forward B would be the roll-charge thing from all the 3D games.

About PBR:

To those that complain.
-Nintendo never said once that its gonna have any RPG elements
-Nintendo designed it to be a D/P battler

My point is that you complain about things that were never going to be in the game, live with it.

Also, got re4 today, havent played it yet though, will give a review later.

And another note, Im now hooked up to record a bunch of stuff so if brawls online I can record the matches and post them on youtube. Hells ya.

And a final note, Im gonna be painting my GC sticks soon so Ill have some sick pictures to show yall.

I'm in the same boat, rammy. I've never been good at the games, but I always buy them, because they're fun, obviously.

So far, the most exciting thing to me on that page has been the Ocarina of Time Medley. That sounded friggin' awesome. And he's right, to think that that'll be played in-game is just... wow. It's pretty cool

Everything else so far on there, it's actually just kinda "meh" to me. i mean, the final smashes look cool, but I've never been a big fan of items in SSB games, especially items that give you a huge advantage, like the heart, so this new mechanic, which sadly sounds like it's gonna be pretty big, is probably gonna be a miss with me

But that's OK. It's still gonna be awesome.

I doubt it is gonna be that big, it sounds like a once every twenty or so minute deal to me... I mean you can't switch to Giga Bowser every couple minutes, after all.

Anyway, the thing I am most excited for is the Ridley boss theme... It is gonna be so awesome. There could even be a Giga Ridley. That would be so freaking epic.

I honestly dont think that the final smash attacks are a big deal. It's basically just a really powerful attack, but there are already a bunch of those. And final smashes arent even gauranteed to knock your opponent off.

To be honest, when playing with my friends, we play with items turned off, because there is no surefire way to find out who is better at the game when items fall at random. I turn items on when playing 1-player, though, because it is somewhat fun.

Er, when was there a giga-Ridley?

I remember a Mech-Ridley, but not a giga-ridley.

Was there ever really a Giga Bowser? The closest ever was when he was invincible in Paper Mario, in which it is not really that close.

I seem to remember Bowser Becoming giant on multiple occasions.

Giga is a prefix that usually referring to large things.

Giga is a prefix that actually means that the base is multiplied by 10^9. Nintendo just used it because it sounded cool.
