The way I understand it, the sensor bar uses two infrared lights, which are picked up by the Wiimote, similar to the way a light gun views the screen, and you can use any two things that put out infrared light, such as a pair of candles.

I have a question though, why would you use candles? I mean, is there any particular advantage to it, or is it just for fun?

Got mine today! Too bad I can't fire it up before Christmas. :(

However, I checked out the contents of the package before wrapping it up. I imagined the Wiimote to be much bigger, I was surprised at the size of it! I also checked out the wrist strap and couldn't understand how some people have managed to break it.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people. They can figure out how to break anything and everything.

I suppose it's possible, as remotes do use IR. But They only emit it when they are actively signaling something, so I imagine you would have to tape a button down or something.

Man, I don't have any good reason NOT to sell my Gamecube, but I'll miss it so much. I just have developed so much of an emotional attachment to it.

:(

Grr... I want a Wii badly...

really badly...

like really really really REALLY badly.

In fact I have come to the conclusion that Satan is not real, considering I have offered to trade my soul for a Wii XD

If I can't get one by Christmas I'll have to go with the 360. Screw PS3 though.

Gut it, Learn how to wire and hack, then make it portable.

Do you mean PS3?
One of my friends bought himself a Wii, he says he hasn't opened the box yet and he's had it for a week.

I just did something very, very bad just now...

I snuck into my mothers room, found the box for the Wii, unpacked everything.

And held the controller + numchuck.

It was glorious.

I found the Guitar Hero 2 box in my parent's room, hooked it up and beat every song save Freebird on hard mode. Then I invited my friend over and we played it co-op, then re-packaged it.

Well, After playing the Wii for several hours, I have officialy deemed it best thing ever.

Now, as soon as it starts validating my friends (Or you start adding me) It will be even better! Grr... stupid taking-foreverness. DX
