I recently signed up for a gmail account. However, I tried accessing it yesterday before bed, and it said: the connection to http://www.google.com has terminated unexpectedly. Some data may have been transferred. I got this on another account, and on our other computer. It is also happening today. Screenie:

Er.. yeah, it's just you. Gmail has been working flawlessly for me this week.

Hmm...it works fine for me now. I don't know what's wrong. Must be a glitch or something.

Location: Hey! I'm looking for some kind of trangly thing!
I know I sometimes have trouble with Gmail when I'm using a dial-up connection. That's because, for some reason, Gmail expects that the connection will only take a certain amount of time, and if it takes longer, it will display a message saying, "Your connection is taking too long." Which is kinda pointless, because I KNOW THAT ALREADY! And the message interrupts the connection, too! >:{

But I think I'm going to suggest the council get rid of that dial-up connection. It's BellSouth, so you know it's overpriced. And I now have high-speed at home, which is walking distance from the office.

Also, Stupendous, that looks like an issue with the Gmail Notifier. If you use the Gmail Notifier, it will inform you when your connection is broken, or if it cannot automatically connect with Gmail for some reason. Usually, if you just ignore it, it will go away.

Thanks for the comment didy. My brother also has gmail, and he has the same problem, and he told me it just goes away after a while. I'm guessing it's just a glitch, since our internet is wireless, and a lot better than some people's internet. *ahem*

{Adam Savage voice} Well there's your problem!

If you're using the internet over a wireless connection you're probably dropping packets left and right. Wireless can be great, but your average home installation is very prone to connection errors and packet loss. Check your signal strength and see if you can't improve the locations of your antennas.

I think I maybe understood the packet part and I might be able to figure out the antennae part, but...that's about all I understand from your post. :P
