HEY GOOGLE BOT STOP READING THIS PAGE.

Also, love the new goto page feature. 3 pages both ways makes for speedy lurking.

Yesterday was surprisingly fun for sitting there doing nothing.

And so, I woke up this morning, had breakfast, came to the computer, and got all excited about the new forum all ofer again. : D

That's pretty much what I did yesterday, too. Though I did that while I played Fire Emblem.

Yesterday, I went to a Music store to get my Amp fixed. On the way out, I put a KRamer Vanguard FR on layaway. Best six or so hours ever.

The last time I checked (I could see a list of all the users who were following along, and every now and then I would see who it was), it was Exhibit A, Inverse Tiger, gunluva, Duecex2, DS_Kid, Ju Ju Master, and Bugkiss. On average there were about half a dozen users staring at the progress bar at any given time.

I was having a very mopey/emo day yesterday. I swear I don't usually stare at progress bars. :p

In the profile, you can see what a person's most posted in topic and board is. That's awesome!

Also, I was there when the forum upgraded but you still couldn't post in it. It amazed me.

Suggestion: Before, links in posts opened in a new tab. The default setting in phpBB3 is to open in the current tab. I greatly prefer it to open in a new one. I haven't found an option for that in the UCP or even the ACP (on my test board). Is there a way to change it back to new tab anywhere? (alternately, I just realized with a slap of the forehead, I could just get used to using the middle mouse button to click links instead... but maybe there's still good reason for defaulting to new tab so here's the idea for consideration anyway)

Oh, right! This is the other thing I was going to mention yesterday, but forgot to say. As Inverse said, while I could just use the middle mouse button, it just feels more convenient for the links to open in new tabs when I'm randomly clicking away on the Forum. It's also hard for me to imitate a middle mouse button click on my laptop sometimes.

It's not really necessary to change it, but it's just something I also noticed yesterday that was different from before.

That's what it's like under mine, as well (Most active forum: Off-subject Discussion
[ 667 Posts / 144.69% of my Posts ]). It is probably because Forum Game and Arts and Crafts posts are not counted on the main post count. It could also be from threads and posts that are locked/deleted, but still seem to be counted for whatever reason. I'm not entirely sure, since I haven't examined it too well.

I always middle-click when I want a new tab anyway, so I'm not affected. I think it's a good habit to get into. But on odd occasions I have the inverse problem: sometimes pages spawn a new tab when I want them to be replaced!

Hey man, that's only 'cause I kept accidentally clicking it on my iGoogle.

"Hm, I'll just go check for new posts and-

Aw, **** it."

'Tis awesome.
I tried going here yesterday and saw a progress bar..
So instead of wasting my time here waiting, I wasted my time playing games.

I watched Mythbusters and played Super Mario World checking the progress bar every 15 minutes. I did start watching at the end, though.

SUGGESTION

Make the page numbers at the top of each topic page so you can tell what the current page is. It's kind of hard to tell now.

So I missed reading pages 2-4. Big deal.

Just noticed something else: Previously, when a Firefox tab of the forum was open, it would show the HRWiki logo next to the tab's title. Now it just shows a blank sheet of paper. I'm not exactly sure what this is called or what else it affects, but would we be able to get that back?

It's showing the logo for me...

I, personally, don't see a use for it because it tells you who is online and offline pretty much everywhere else. At the bottom of every page, between usernames and avatars, etc. Which, by the way, I love.

After having gone through this entire thread, some things I saw that I liked were the music player idea and spoiler tags.

On the tab itself? Hm, wonder why it's not showing for me...

Shows up for me as well. You got all the latest updates and that?

I was checking the 'Progress Bar' as well. Like every 30 minutes, then 15 when it was closing down, then I was refreshing the page like every 2 right before it came up. Then I nearly weadled myself. :eekdance:

Being able to embed music and such like on SI would be great. However, in a forum of this size, it would soon be over-used and annoying. Imagining opening a page and hearing 4 different songs playing at once.

Psh, I only checked the progress bar twice. Losers.

Ju Ju: It's called a Favicon, and I also no longer see it in Firefox. Odd, I thought that it was working last night...
