Suggestion

Its already been stated quite a few times, but I thought I'd put my two cents in.

So far, the one thing I don't like is the lack of any sort of button to go back to the wiki. That was very useful...

All the SI user titles were given by mods and admins. It would be the same here. We would have to go into your profile, create an entirely new user title, and give it to you. So I doubt we'll want to go to all that trouble.


Huh, I remember being able to change it at my own will (and not on that one awesome day were we were all presidents). Maybe I'm getting senile?

Nope. You could change your name at will but a mod had to change the title if you wanted.

What's with the sudden demand for user titles? I don't get it, it was never brought up before...

Yeah it was, and it was shot down because of PHPBB2. Now we're in the Era of PHPBB3 and we want User titles.

Also, Chocolate milk must squirt out of my monitor and into my mouth whenever I go into a thread.

Now that phpBB3 distinguishes mods and admins by color already without title, people figured titles could get more widespread. I forgot about the part where they have to be manually set in the ACP tho. So unless there's a mod to install, it's probably a no-go for widespread use. But maybe they could be extended out to exceptional users now.

Technical issue: Speaking of titles, looks like the side box width is different now so my title word-wraps. Dunno if that's true for anyone else. If so, maybe widening the box a couple pixels would be good. If not, maybe I should think of a new title. :P EDIT: looks like I'm the only one actually. Hm.

I swore that it was possible to enable custom user titles for all users. If not, then phpBB is really weird.

Some more things (I'll add them to my previous ones):
  • Like I previously said, this Forum looks really slick now. It's really easy to get used to.
  • Was it true that the previous version of the Forum had a 100,000 character-limit? If so, why did it drop down to 60,000? That may impact the amount of information I can hold within the Disk-tionary if it did drop.
  • Are there any plans to add new features, like custom Titles for users? Now that we can tell who the admins and mods are by the color of their names within posts, it seems like having titles wouldn't make it too hard to distinguish between admins, mods, and regular users.
  • Are any emoticons going to be added/changed around? The Stinkoman one under "View More Smilies" would fit perfectly with the other members of the Homestar cast.
  • Is anything else planning on being changed? For instance, will there be any new MODs (modifications; a user got confused on this)?
  • There still needs to be a Wiki link at the very top, but I'm sure you guys have that under control.
  • The search function isn't working for me for some reason. You might want to look into that (it tells me to specify words to search for, despite putting in proper words).
  • As previously mentioned, the old posts with the Strikethrough MOD do not function properly.
  • Quotes should definitely go to the top of posts; it's not as easy to mix up the post you're quoting that way.

I applied to join the Admin group, and Ramrod had no idea what to do, so he hit the "Screw everything up" button on his keyboard and we died for a minute. Keanu Reeves showed up at some point.

Can the yellow piece of paper on new posts go to the left side of posts? If not, no big deal, just a minor annoyance that I noticed.

Hhaah! I remember so clearly the day I joined now. I was at the Library with Droideka, we had just finished volunteering at the local Performing Arts center. We usually go to the computers instead of the books, not sure why. Good times...good times...

Anti-moron feature. If possible, make it so it doesn't show a topic review at the top. If one really needs to see new posts, they can look at the bottom one.

Text color. This doesn't annoy me much, but you might want to bring back the drop-down color menu. Also,

These two things would be pretty cool, as well. The color drop-down menu seemed to make the colors brighter than they currently are. Why does phpBB 3 have such dull colors?

  • Wiki link will be added soon. There are a few things on the to-do list that we didn't feel necessitated keeping the forum closed.
  • The search function will take hours and hours to rebuild (when I ran tests, eight hours seemed like a likely figure). I'll have it rebuild the search list overnight soon.
  • Strikethrough seems to be working fine.
