Alright here's how it goes. I try to get on xbox live to activate my 1 free month of gold that I got for when my 360 had the red rings. I put in the code and it notices its a 1 month dealie. So I press redeem and after a while it says "information can not be retrieved". I can still get messages and stuff so I'm not sure what it is.

Help would be appreciated.

I've had that problem before. Sometimes Xbox Live won't respond and there's not much you can do but wait and try it again later.
