I'm trying to take screenshots of one of my favourite games, The Neverhood, which came out in 1995 or so.

The game looks like this. But when I try to take screenshots, it looks like this. It looks the same whatever format I try to save it to. I'm using Screen Hunter 5.0 Free to take the pictures if it's important. This is really frustrating, so help would be appreciated.

Try that, press the button in game, exit out, open Paint, and ctrl+v

I did. First thing I tried when the screen capture program didn't work.

Let me show you how it turned out.

Possibly I need a better screen capture program?

I think it may have to do with the game.

I remember trying to Print Screen in a game that was kind of like that once, and it turned out pretty much the same.

Have you tried going into Window'd mode and screen capturing it there?

It's got something to do with the video mode the game runs in.
I'm not really sure, but somehow, the different number of colors and resolution of that game don't come over when you try a screenshot.

Thanks, I'll try that. Once I figure out how to run it in Window'd mode.

If you haven't fixed this, I have a program (Freeware) that can force windowed mode. I don't remember the name for sure right now, but I could email it to you when I get home later maybe.

What program are you using? I use Fraps with a few games, and I haven't had any problem with the colors not turning out right.

Oh, forgot about this thread.

I'm using Fraps and it's working perfectly now. Thanks for the advice.

Make more of those and sell them as "modern art" for lots of money.
