This has happened to me about 6 times in all.

I was playing Guitar Hero 3 last night, and when I booted it up this morning, my data was corrupted. Everything was gone.

This has happened twice with Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, 4 or 5 times with GHIII.

I haven't had the problem with Zero Gravity for a while, but it just KEEPS HAPPENING with Guitar Hero III.

My mom used to get this back when she was playing Sly 3. We thought nothing of it then but now it keeps on happening. This morning my mom said I could use her memory card for Guitar Hero.

I think my memory card may be too full.

And another thing- the same PS2 refuses to read a couple of my DVDs. Rammstein's Lichtspielhaus wouldn't play, and it's totally clean and there's no scratches.

I had the same 'Could not read disk' thing with Madagascar and one of the Voelkerball concerts.

.... HALP!

DUDE! I had a playstation 2 that was pulling that 'can not read disk' crap on me. You know what it turned out to be? It was OLD. I bought it when it first came out, used it religiously, and wore that sucker out.

I bought a brand new thin pretty PS2, and it's delicious.

I was pretty sure that it might have been the system. Oh, and if I save my current memory card, will the new PS2 accept all the data, or will everything be gone?

Yeah, your memory card should be A-OK. At least, mine was. I hope yours will be too. :(

Thanks.

That solves my Cannot Read Disk problem, but what about the corrupted datas?

If they keep getting corrupted, is it the memory card, or is Guitar Hero 3 too much for my system?

*thinks* ... :( I'm afraid I haven't run into that problem. Do you think the memory card itself might be old/rundown/crappy?

Disc Read Error is a legendary PS2 problem. You can always find guides online that can temporarily remedy the problem, but they involve taking the machine apart and manually cleaning the laser with compressed air, so you may not want to do that unless you need to.

If all else fails, get a PS3.

Thanks for all your help. I'm pretty sure my memory card is old old OLD (I got it when I first got my PS2, which was like 2002), so...

Ratchet and Clank is an epic series.

Tasmanian Tiger 2 was the only good one.
