This feels so stupid saying this, but I'm alone all day and I have a lot of homework so my dad decided he would put a block on internet and TV.

I obviously was able to pass the internet one, but I can't figure out what he did to the TV.

The TV has three sections, the actual TV the cable box, and the dvd player which also provides sound. I can turn on the cable box and the dvd player, so I can listen to anything. The actual TV won't turn on though so I can't get any video.

inb4 BAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW just do your homework. I don't really have any interest in watching TV, because I actually need to do my homework, I just want to prove to him I could have.

Flip all switches on the TV and press every button on the remote. IF that doesn't work, unplug the TV and place the plug on something metal, then plug it back in.

Alright, serious answers now.

Quite frankly, I don;t know how you get around the block. So instead just do your homework and then he'll take the block off.

Actually It was just a day thing, I was just interested in how he did it.

Turned out it was unplugged.

Lock away.

The sad thing is, I was being totally serious here (like, more than the seriousness the internet requires, and yes it is serious business).
It sounded like he couldn't get the TV to come on.
When I worked tech support, the first question on the decision tree was "is the computer/printer/otherthing plugged in?".

Told you so!
Being a married man, I never get to be right.
I must keep this a secret.
