I just got like, spyware or some virus thing, Ad-Aware found 92 infected objecs (with low warning) how do I quarantine them? I open the Quarantine thing they don't quarantine or it says invalide file. The spyware or whatever happened after a pop up came up and it said, "Download our virus protection to get rid of your bloodhound virus." and the viruses or whatevers descriptions are, "This cookie is known to collect information that may be used for targeted advertising, or tracking users across a particular website, such as page views or adclick-thrus." (I have 90 of those) The other one is, "Downloads malicious software from the internet, operates in stealth, undisclosed installation." (I have two of those) Should I be worried?! Cause I sure as heck am. Oh, and I got those viruses on Tripod... Can you tell me something to download or something to get rid of these?! |

Try posting here. I used to post there a lot. They're really good at removing spyware. |

Most of those sound like (mostly-innocuous) cookies instead of actual spyware. As for Local Settings: I assume you're running windows XP. Open a folder window, go to Tools->Folder Options->File types, and check "Show system and hidden files and folders" or something to that effect. |

Are you looking for the local settings folder? C:\Documents and Settings\<your login name>\Local Settings -- It's a hidden folder, so just type that in the address bar. |

Thanks, now I can delete the two spyware installments that have a higher risk. *Sigh* Oh thank god, few. These spyware files are internet explorer made toolbars, they are in the IE file. They were fake toolbars, THAT WERE WATCHING ME! Well, luckily I use firefox. ANOTHER REASON TO USES FIREFOX KIDS! |

Sorry to revive this sucker, but just a warning, I figured out the real root of the problem, that was because I accidently clicked on an ad (which doesn't get blocked BTW >_>), and if you ever get an add where this wierd guy says, "Congradulations!" and there are tons of pictures of tech-nologies and the guy says some other words, don't click it. Trust me
