What is the difference between getting a thread locked and a thread moved? Aren't they the same, since both are going to Spam Vault?

When a thread is locked, it means that no one can post in it (the lock icon appears next to it). It doesn't necessarily mean it's going to the Spam Vault. When a thread gets moved to the Spam Vault, it's not always locked (if you look in the Spam Vault you can see that some have the lock icon and some don't), but since the entire Spam Vault forum is locked, no one can post in it anyways.

Also, if a thread is moved, it can simply have been moved to a different board. Like, a thread being mvoed from general discussion to off-subject discussion.

I think it's very rare if it has happened so.

Er.. actually, this happens pretty frequently. Newbies tend to post things in the wrong forum.

Oh. I meant when the word "moved" is used before a thread, I thought it should go to Spam Vault.

Nah, not necessarily. If it shows up as locked and moved, it's more than likely in the Vault. If it just shows up as moved, it could be in the Vault, or not. Some of the mods/admins don't bother locking threads that they move to the Spam Vault (because, as ed said, that whole forum is locked), and some do. It'll tell you what forum it's been moved to if you click on it, though.
