I love point and click! The first game that I ever beat which also really scared me was point and click! (Don't jump down the drain. You will die)

What's that picture from? I know who the characters in the pictures are.

Luckily, telltale is good at avoiding all these problems, but I hope that the challenge isn't sucked out of this game, considering the target age group.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about you need to play something besides putt-putt saves the zoo.

I liked Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo... Though I was seven at the time. And I only heard Rincewind say "That doesn't work" once or twice because I was playing a version of the first Discworld game with no sound, and I still never want to hear him say it again. The second game got better with the arbitary puzzles, and I can almost forgive them for what they did to Ponder's characterisation.

I don't know about the other problems. If you can pick up an item, then you know you're going to have to use it eventually. It'd be worse if you could pick up stuff you don't need, and it just sat there taking up inventory space and making you wonder what you're supposed to do with it. And if you're playing an adventure game and don't want to do puzzles, only caring about the plot, then you probably should just use a guide.

I never played the second one because the underdogs version didn't have sound, and seriously, Eric Idle's voice acting was the best part of the game. Yeah putt-putt rules, I was going to do a speedrun, but the recording software kept screwing up.

My main problem with the random pick-ups is that it just multiplies the guesswork that would inevitably happen. By the end of Discworld, I know I had about 40 items in my inventory. Plus, it's always strange how the main character can find it handy to pick up one seemingly useless item in a room, while leaving loads of other junk just sitting there.

I never said that the plot is the only thing I enjoy the games for. It's just that in some games it does this thing, where the game is slow moving for a while as you slowly unravel the plot, with lots of puzzles along the way, but then the plot advances a ton, leaving a kind of mini-cliffhanger and just plops you back down to puzzle some more. Maybe I'm an impatient dolt, but this gets on my nerves.

When Strong Bad started adjusting the location of Bub's Concession Stand I both stared in horror and kicked myself.

Of course TBC would keep the canon layout ambigious ಠ_ಠ
At least we now have artistic license to tinker Free Country to our liking.

In other news, looks like the game possesses the charm of its flash-based brother - not that I wasn't expecting that but it was nice to see :3

I'm still excited about this game, and it's been announced for over a week. That song Strong Bad sings at the start of the game is a contender for this month's Best Thing Ever Awards. He seems like the kind of character who really would walk through his house singing about how awesome he is for no apparent reason.

And on an off-topic note, I've been playing through the Neverhood with screenshots on my LiveJournal if anyone's interested in that. At the moment I'm up to just before Bil..

Remember: there are going to be five episodes, and all that has been shown is from a TINY fragment of episode one, which was sliced and diced into a ten minute demo to show to some journalists. That means there's a lot that nobody has seen!
