How did everybody like the new 'ween toon, "That A Ghost"? I enjoyed it thoroughly. Those old-timey guys crack me up.

The wiki page is here: http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/That_A_Ghost

If the new toon doesn't show up for you on the site (it will eventually), don't whine: just go to the above Wiki page and click on the "watch this toon" link at the bottom.

I liked it. The easter egg (click on D in "end") was good.

It was okay... It wasn't quite as good as the other Old-Timey cartoons, but it had its moments. Sir Strong Bad was funny throughout, and I liked the easter egg.

I give it a 7/10.

I actually think this is the funniest old-timey cartoon yet.

I liked it...but I also think it's the Halloween Special too :( , so that kinda bums me out, I always like to see them all in costume. Not this year I guess.. Oh well....
I am suprised there was not goblin in there. Is there a 1936 goblin?

Nah, there will be a real Halloween special this year. Why would they be showing the 'Ween special two weeks before Halloween? If you ask me, I reckon we'll get a 20X6 Halloween next week, then, on October 31st, we'll get the regular 2004 Halloween.

i really liked it, ive always liked the old timey stuff. My favorite part was when the ghost scared them out of their skins and sir SB was putting on gold pants at the end. That was awesome. Best old timey toon yet

I was not current with H*R last year, so I didn't know if they waited till the week of, or early. I also noticed it was in the 'holiday' toon section, and the others only have one for each year.
However, I think (hope like crazy) you may be right, and this may just be a new thing they are doing or a teaser if you will. I'll keep my hopes up.
I want to see what Rapper :coachz: is this year, as well as :hr: costume. Wonder if :pom: will be a WWF figure again?

It's not the real 'ween toon. Halloween is still two weeks away, and the 'ween toons have always had all of the main characters in costume.

if you look at 1936 marzipans bones near were her skirt would be, it look like she would have tentacles.

I find Marzipan's pony-tail bones and Sir Strong Bad's moustache bones hilarious. I think this is definitely the most rewarding '36 toon yet, mostly because it's longer than the others and more sequential, makes more sense. Feels less like the others, though, for the same reason.

But you know what? To be real honest, I got a little s-s-s-s-S-scared.

I added this in the "Fun Facts" section on the wiki, but I think that Strong Bad's cracked skull at the end is a reference to Marshmallow's Last Stand. I guess that's probably obvious.

Anyway, great toon. I've been reading FARK.com lately and there are a lot of H*R bashers there, but toons like this are among the many redeeming qualities of the site. :)

It's about time we got some new 1936 material on the site, and while it's not the best holiday toon in my opinion, it's certainly not the worst.

What on earth are they bashing H*R about?

Plus there were two Halloween cartoons last year.

Liked this one a lot. Those old timey guys are so cute. "Let's split up." "We'll do more damage that way." Classic. The ending was really messed up though.

I also have something that may be of significance. The page title is "Bury me deep I'm cold and clammy." That seemed familiar to me when I saw it, but I couldn't place it. When reading the discussion thread at Homestarrules, someone else mentioned they remembered it from a fanfic on that board. I thought I remembered reading that, so I looked for it. A search turned up this fanfic thread, which does indeed contain the line "Bury me deep I'm cold and clammy. (It's in the epilogue if you don't want to look for it) Coincidence? You be the judge.

"Bury me deep, I'm cold and clammy" is from an interview TBC did. Specifically, from when Matt Chapman was doing his Homsar. The interview is here, and the specific page the quote is on is here.

Ah, good find. In fact, I think that might me even more interesting, that they would take a line from some interview done a year and a half ago. *delights in obscure knowledge*

I really liked this one. I'm fond of the 1936 car-toons, but this one was great. I can't wait for the real one.

I thought it was quite hilarious!

I think it's humour lies with its bizzareness (or bizarrity?), but similarly to other fans, I find the 1936 Homestar Runner quite funny. The scaring out of their skin was just weird and I'm glad they kept the dancing tradition. Although it would have been great if the Homestar Runner made a reference to that music or joined in in the dancing.

I wonder what Homsar would be like in 1936?

I didn't like this one as much as i the previous years. I guess they left out alot of things that i am used to (costumes, finding homsar, etc.).

Pretty good...wish I wasn't on such a crappy computer to watch it. It's somewhat interesting that I had started on a 1936 fanfic and then they did this. Makes writing it easier if I have more source material. I'm glad this isn't THE halloween cartoon though.

Not too shabby.

I mean, I didn't laugh my head off, but I liked it.
At least it was reson-able.

Though I can't wait 'till the Halloween cartoon next week.
Especially since there might be a Homsar sighting. :homsar:

But I give this a 7.5/10

That's bupkis!

You have to like the way Fat Dudley talks. Where's the 1936 emoticons?
