Hosting a toon on a different site isn't really a betrayal. It just means they hosted it on a different site. It's not like YouTube is against everything that homestarrunner.com stands for. Also, they've actually been updating it for over eight years now.

Going back to the fake screamer, I think that it would be funny if instead of a freaky image, a TGS style drawing of a skull came up and you hear Strong Bad say, "SCREAMER'D!" In normal TGS fashion.
