Everything about "A Death-Defying Decemberween" is pure win. It's the most tightly constructed toon, short, email, or anything else that's been on the website in years—not a single moment is wasted, and not a single moment falls flat. And Homestar's grand ultimate plan of getting out of having dinner at Marzipan's parents' house was pure gold.

The joke has been used before, but that made it no less hilarious!

Just one thing though: there was a noticeable lack of . Doesn't seem right to me that he should be left out of the Decemberween toon.

Strong Bad locked him in the bathtub, remember?

Anyway, the toon seemed to have a sort of symbolic twist to me. Homestar riding the "Homestarrunner.com" sled down the slope to certain doom seemed (to me, at least) to represent the really early days when Homestar was the star and the site wasn't all that popular, then Strong Bad (unintentionally) saving the day by saving both Homestar and the website by his actions (namely, starting Strong Bad E-Mails and every single hit that followed since).

The English major in me totally luvs the crazy symbolism and over-thinking you did right there. The Homestar Runner fan in me doesn't think that's what they were trying to portray. Still... I'm overcome with the urge to write an essay... I'm such a nerd.

Hehe... don't look now, but most of us are. I mean, we did create one of the best-looking, full-featured wikis for a simple web cartoon. Considering the amount of technical expertise and painstaking hours spent on this entire project... well, let's just say that sanity isn't a major feature for us. New essay topic!

I think it's the funniest dween toon yet! The ending was pure hilarity not only in Homestars totally bummed out attitude, but just the plain expression of glee on Strong Bads face. It's one of the funniest ones they've made recently too. Very good in my opinion.

This toon was solid, tight, and funny. Perhaps the the most solid and tight thing on the site, at least in recent years. It kicked last year's toon's butt.
5/5
Also, it is not parodying Colbert! They both parodied the same type of special!

Yep. The sequences where Homestar is (apparently) on TV seem to be referencing a certain genre of TV Christmas specials.

Is it just me or was Marzipan's voice different in this toon.

Hillarious buildup to a truly great twist ending, which in itself was taken advantage of wonderfully.

If I could give this a 6/5, I would.

Or 2, for that case.

Ever so slightly.

I have been disappointed with the last few new toons, especially the last Halloween one, but this Decemberween special was great.

I didn't hear anything different, though then again, I wasn't really paying much attention to how her voice sounded.

When I watched this on my wii, a lot of items didn't show up, like the backround of homestar's special, strong bad's couch, the mattress, homestar's sled when he got it from bubs. It was really weird.

No Homestar toon since Most in the Graveyard has been able to play on the Wii. It's because they were animated with a version of Flash newer than the one included with the Wii Internet Channel.
