I don't know if this will become a tradition, but we never know unless we try. I took the highest-rated toon from each of this year's Toon of the Month polls, and now am asking people which of those they liked the best.

I put my vote on Death-Defying Decemberween. Though it was really hard to choose, with Email Thunder, Pet Show, and Love Poems in there.

I would probably have to go for either Play Date or Twenty THANXty Six... both still make me laugh every time I see them. I guess since neither are on the poll, I don't have to think about which one comes out on top.

A Death-Defying Decemberween is a very close third, though.

Tip: A complete list of every toon in 2008, without all the clutter of weeklies and such that's in the full updates list, can be found here.

Well considering fan club is probably my favorite toon of all. It is also going to be my favorite of this year.

Twenty THANXty Six. To be honest, I really didn't like email thunder. At all.

I'd also have to go for Play Date. I also didn't really see how email thunder was that great (sorry TBC, if you're reading this). I would have prefered something more like alternate universe or high school.

that was tough, but i voted for hiding. i feel it was teh funniest on the list

Im not sure how the crap Love Poems made it, because i personally hated it

E-mail thunder was also a dissapointment

And what happened to Play Date? Why aint that on the list. That toon could have easily been my toon of da year, it was genius!

I don't understand it either, but somehow it won "Toon of the Month" in May 2008.

It ain't on the list because only 2 people voted for it in June 2008

Tough choice. I liked the Decemberween Special, but Homestar Runner's Craw book had some great lines (Crawbject, Ghost of Christmas suck) and it one of the only toons that made me laugh out loud.

If I still believed that more Homestar toons are on the way, I would say that I hope "Play Date"'s absence from this poll has encouraged more people to participate in "Toon of the Month" polls. I know they're not a big deal, but I can't think of anything else remotely positive that came out of "Play Date"'s failure to make it this far.
