I liked this overall. I admit, I'm not a fan of how musically discontinuous the squeedly section is from the hippie section. (I probably make much too big a deal out of such things; I have an MA in Music, so it's kind of in my nature to do so). Still, I liked the concept and found the whole hippie song with its silly cliches pretty funny. About a 3.7 of 5, I'd say.

Well, the Ear Worm Effect is in play again. I couldn't get the song out of my head for some reason (thank goodness not at school! There, I actually had a LBP track stuck in my head...) After watching it twice more...
...
...
I think I'll bump my opinion up to a The Cheat divided by the sum of Homestar and the square root of two Homsars ( :cheat: / ( :hr: + ( :homsar: * 2) ^ ( 1 / 2 ) ) ), or 4/5. Not quite as big a pukevalanche as the Puppet Homestar thing (as I mentioned earlier), but still not quite Sbemail-quality lolz.

It's much better than last week's puppet disaster. Yes, TMBG are a group I hold close and the lyrics were meant to be surreal and vague and silly. That's the concept and Strong Bad's response was well done. It's a 4/5, not quite a 5, but pretty darn close.

This was probably the most epic thing I've ever seen.

5/5, although it had potential to be a little funnier. Also, it should just be a 'toon, not a PBtC...

I use HRwiki to see if any new toons are up and thus always read the forum replies. I kinda get sick of how often awesome bizarre humor is panned on here, so much to the point that I broke down and registered solely to leave my juxtaposed $.02 on these. Yes, I'm a nerd.

THAT WAS AWESOME. That was the funniest toon I've seen on this site in a long time. I probably represent an odd and older demographic (i.e. I get all of the 80s references and think they are funny), but that was awesome. It was almost as good as the FHQGWGADS video in some ways, and that's like one of my favorite of all time.

5/5. My coworkers are thoroughly confused by my maniacal laughter. Just awesome.

Also, unrelated but worth mentioning. The overly enthusiastic Strong Bad voice in the newer emails drives me insane. He was much funnier when he was more deadpan. But that's of course subjective, and for all I know that's been brought up 100 million times on here before.

Huge tip o' the hat here. Party on, dudes.

Bizarre, but thankfully it's a good kind of bizarre. Far, far better than the Puppet Homestar thing.
Strong Bad's constant comments on the lyrics are always funny. They really made this video. Especially "I'll melt your face".

4.5/5

I agree with Octan's post. The Brothers Chaps just keep ramping up the "What exactly did I just watch?" factor.

I rate it 4/5 because it has a mix of Strong Bad-type song and Davey-type song.

I would put this one in my top 5 for sure!

The humor is perhaps kinda obscure and less accessible. It seems plausible that this one was conceived of or produced under somewhat altered states of mind... : -p

:stinko: :stinko: :stinko: :stinko:/ :stinko: :stinko: :stinko: :stinko: :stinko:

Call me crazy but doesn't that scene where muscular Strong Bad is on that mountain look like fortress at the very end of Stinkoman level 9? A little? Probably just my imagination.

:senor: :senor:  / :senor: :senor: :senor:
(that's like, 2.99/3)

Only because there wasn't a download link at the end.

I totally want this on my iPod. Like, now.

I liked the reappearence of the 'stave it off' guy, and his randomness. Along with Davie and his friend being what appear to be PBTC hand puppets. And Strong Bad having ears, and the unicorn . . . and like, the entire thing.

BUT THERE WASN'T A DOWNLOAD. BAHHH, THE HORROR! :-(

I think a lot of people here may not have been around for (or seen at the time) the period of children's programming that Stave represents. Back in the 70s, Sesame Street got real, popular and good singers on a pretty regular basis to show up and perform - Stave is not about that period, though. He's about the period after that, when good performers weren't showing up on children's shows but they still wanted to copy that earlier period, so they had mellow-voiced mediocre crooners writing treacly songs like this one, and more than a few times it was to mellow out Oscar the Grouch or another "hostile" character who was getting his image softened up to appeal more to concerned-parents groups.

Having two guys nobody cares about talk about how much everyone loves Strong Bad and he just doesn't know it, and then launching into a terrible song about it, is a standard children's-show skit out of that period. Strong Bad's reaction is how we wished the grouch puppets would react - and how they would have reacted in the earlier period.

Ok, after watching this one again (or maybe five or six more times), I have to say this. THIS IS THE FUNNIEST CARTOON ON THE WEBSITE!

I am totally serious. Nothing TBC has ever made makes me laugh harder. On the average toon, I might laugh out loud once or twice, and SBemails are good for a chuckle or two, but from start to finish, I cannot stop laughing.

BEST. TOON. EVER.

I'm not even joking.

The song is a bit catchy and i do like TMBG SBs commentary was funny but the problem i have with it is that they labeled it as a powered by :cheat: and i don't see how :cheat: could have improved his animation skills this much so fast i guess its just lacking the PB :cheat: style. 3/5

I mean, putting together most of the things you've seen in a sbemail is fine, but it got screwed up.

Unicorns, flowers and acoustic guitar music... calm, suitable for those around 2 or 3...
then jumps to heavy metal, lightning and SB yelling "YOU DON'T GET THE FRENCH FRIIIIES!!"

Something for everyone, I guess.

A music video that was pretty much unlistenable, and not funny. Also, missing that trademark "Powered by the Cheat" feel. Nope, this one was a dud.

You can get one on the TMBG Podcast Downloads. It was originally going to be used a lot earlier, in fact it was made halloween of 2 years ago, but It didn't come out until then. So TMBG put it on a podcast. Here's the link. http://tmbw.net/wiki/Podcast_37A Just scroll down a bit and Click "Download Show Mp3"
