unnatural recently, and it was a lot funnier than I'd originally remembered. The premise was good, the story had a coherent plot, and there were a lot of subtle, funny nuggets I'd missed the first time around.
D'you know, I hated that one at first too. I kinda got used to it watching the podcast download, there are some good subtleties to it, but it always just seemed so weak to me. I felt the same way about "Original" too.
I didn't like The Homestarrunner much either, but I watched "That A Ghost" after watching a few Buster Keaton Films and some early talkies, and it just suddenly "clicked" for me.
Oh, and "Vampire", I always loved "Vampire"!
In fact, it was the first toon on the site that made me laugh. I discovered Homestarrunner.com through some old forgotten blog when they put up a post about the 100th Sbemail - I watched that and just didn't get it (bad starting point) I watched one other and then clicked on "Vampire" and finally I got the giggles. Took a while for me to appreciate the body of work, but I think I watched almost every Sbemail within a week.
I have to say, I think Sbemails are underrated - not for the funnies because they all maintain a fairly consistent batting average, but for what they contribute to the site. Most spin-offs and popular characters have been spawned by the Sbemails and yet I've heard people really slam them. Anyone who hasn't done so in a while should take a crack at Vampire, Different Town, Fingers, Kinda Cool and 2 Emails.
