made it up making fun of Strong Sad. But i guess thats not the case, considering that he said he made it up. But im making sense, right?

The origins of Saddy Dumpington are confusing indeed. He apparently originated in a post on Strong Sad's (fake) blog, one that was apparently actually from Strong Bad, who was messing around with Strong Sad's account. And yet in "A Folky Tale", Strong Sad claims that Saddy Dumpington is "an old folk hero I made up"...

My personal theory is that Strong Bad invented the character in that blog post and Strong Sad adopted him as his own, secretly ashamed that Strong Bad's childishness created something he likes more than anything he himself could ever make up. He'd never publicly admit that he likes a childish Strong Bad creation, so he pretends that he wrote that blog post. You know what? Being Strong Sad, he probably felt sorry for Saddy Dumpington. |
