I think everybody trying to view the cartoon at once is murdering the Homestar site. I've been trying to watch the toon for about 5 mintues straight and it's never loaded fully yet.

EDIT: Make this about 15 minutes. I think this will go down in history as one of the more unfortunate mistakes TBC have made as far as things go. And I really want to see what the update might be, too.

Yeah, I managed to see the first bit of it. Look under the "shorts" section. Apparanty it's 3 minutes long. I saw maybe a minute or so, but I won't give anything away.

What were they expecting? They set themselves up for this, I just hope it doesn't kill the server!

It's quite awesome, I agree! The real-life acting was cool (I personally loved Mendelev and Dongolev's hearty Haldo!s, and the way they did Naked Ned was amusing), and the CGIish Trogdor was dripping with awexomenessity. A slow load, but worth it!

Ok, I just read that it is not recommended for us poor unfortunates who still have dial up connections...

I guess I'll never get to see it......

TRIED'...D.

I only get the loading page with the mirror.
Which is more than I get from the website though!

EDIT: Ok, I take it all back, sorry porple. But it stuck at the bit where a big hairy arm is picking up rocks.

Well it's a big file to begin with. Letting that load gives you a much better chance than from homestarrunner.com.

Hmm, only found about it on here, since over here it still says "We will be updating at halftime" even though the Super Bowl is over and the Patriots have won. BOO!

But, I digress. Even on my T2 modem (That's very very fast) I gave up after six minutes. This is a really, really big mistake. Instead of the song The Great British Mistake, it should be...

The Great Chapman Mistake!

HOLY CRAP! THAT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!

I love that. I still have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard...
I don't want to spoil it, though, so all I'm going to say was that this was better than any of the commercials during the game (and better than the game, cus the patriots won).

PS: I watched it from the mirror posted above.. Took 3 minutes as opposed to the 10 I spent waiting on H*R site.

That was the best thing ever.

And TBC's servers are clearly overloaded. Er, overvoaded.

Since I actually got to finally watch it, wow it was great. So much mocking of movie cliches, and of course I like how it incorporated the Peasant's Quest commands into the dialogue. "Easy now, Gary, I'm just going to WEAR MASK" or "Throw... baby!"

I thought it was pretty funny. Not incredibly funny, by any means, but I was pleased. Thank goodness for the mirror, or else I'd be staring at the load screen for eternity.

But man oh man, did TBC set themselves up for a colossal failure. Not too smart.

Take an already oversized file, difficult to load, and then tease visitors for two straight days, telling them all to access the site all at once.

I think they will learn a lesson from this one.

Anyone think that this Peasant's Quest movie is for real? I certainly do!

That trailer was GREAT! The music was great (greater than from the game itself), and there are some new things (the King of Peasantry, Rather Dashing fighting Jhonka, Rather Dashing making friends with Mendelev and Dongolev, Rather Dashing eating the meatball sub, etc.). Plus, the acting was great (the knight was good at that). For some reason, Mendelev and Dongolev remind me of Merry and Pippin from the Lord of the Rings, maybe it's because of their voices.
Well, I can't wait for the movie, but I hope it won't have to load like the movie trailer.

Hmmm, that was different alright. I was kinda just hoping for a regular update, though, with a new SB e-mail. :( But I guess the trailer WAS kinda cool... just a different kind of cool! It was nice to see all those game references turned into real-life events. :p And the computer-generated Trogdor was hilarious...

*coming out of the shadows of lurking*

Hi, I'm new here. That trailer was so great! It was awesome to see real-life acting instead of a cartoon or puppet stuff.
BTW, does anyone know who played what parts? I'm not too familiar with what TBC look like.

The only thing I know for certain is that Matt played Rather Dashing. Other than that, I really have no idea, though I suspect that Matt also played the King of Peasantry.

The only other role that I'm going to take a wild guess at is that Jackie Chapman (Matt's wife) was probably the female peasant.

Hello I'm a new member. I've been a fan of the Homestar Runner site for 2 years now. About the trailer, I love it. I hope they really make a movie of it. And if they do, it'll probably be for DVD.

Oh, blah! I can't believe I haven't seen it yet. I was at a gig most of the day, and by the time I got home, I couldn't get to the site. None of the mirrors are working now either. Oh well-- hope it's back up soon!

--edit--

And miraculously, it was! Amazing. Just... brillo pads! I was very impressed.

Man, when I finally got this bad boy downloaded, it was one of the most awesome things ever. Although that said, I think making a full movie of it would be a bad idea - no way could you keep something like that up for, say, half an hour
