I didn't like this one as much as last Halloween (or maybe I'm just disappointed it wasn't as long) and I kinda wish it was more like The House That Gave Sucky Treats, but with Homestar not updating as much as it used to, I guess I shouldn't be complaining. My favorite part was the escape room scene, despite being pretty immature. Also Large Bean. And Teen Girl Squad. And Hot Strong Mad Oyster something something. I only recognized like one costume this year, which is also disappointing.

Well, we all did a terrible job of accurately guessing their costumes ahead of time this year.

Gotta say, Marzipan may be dressed as Micheal Jackson playing a movie I never knew existed, but by gawd does she look like an Elvis impersonator.

I liked coach Z's long hair/goatee look.

Strong Sad doesn't say anything at the end. There's so many one-liners from Ferris Bueller's day off he could have used. This is also the only movie reference I got at all.

My favorite joke was "tropical Beetlejuice."

Poopsmith's hair threw me off of Dune. I was guessing he was the Heatmiser.

I liked Marzipan's costume! That was probably the only thing I got without having to wait until the end. And on the old Homestar fanfic site, there was put up an idea for a Halloween toon in which Homestar dressed as Ferris Bueller.

This had the feel of a Strong Bad Email, which isn't a bad thing. I remember an interview where the Brothers Chaps said they'd gotten to the point where they usually came up with a lot of the material for an episode first and then go hunting for an email they can pretend it was a response to, and it was starting to show. I'd be fine with just ditching the pretense and making "Strong Bad rants about X" cartoons most of the time.

[from the Hey Hometar! (Halloween '15) thread] I'm not very good at these guessing games, but I got a strong TiVo box vibe from :sm: . Would that be too modern of a reference for them?

I CALLED IT! I TOTALLY CALLED IT! I don't really care about the toon this is the BEST HALLOWEEN EVER!

Only costume I could identify off the bat was Strong Mad as the Tivo mascot and Pom Pom as Wilson the volleyball. And the Knight as an Astro-pop, of course.

Anyway, I thought this year's cartoon was pretty funny. But maybe I'm just a sucker for the old "mundane annoyances treated as dreadful and frightening" routine.

I actually recognized four costumes this year: Homestar (I actually knew it immediately, which has only happened a few times in the past for me), Pom Pom, Coach Z, and Strong Sad. And the Knight, but that doesn't really count. I thought Marzipan was just regular MJ at first actually, so I kind of got that one, but not really.
