Yes, and that would explain where the KoT was . . . He was pea-buried! But SS wasn't wearing his Calybos(sp?) costume and no Modestly Hot Homsar to be found :(

And, no, TBC should never hire a writer. That would just defeat the whole indie-tastic nature of everything.

I liked this toon--I'm glad TBC are focusing more on the actual star of their universe. Strong Bad's pretty much taken over everything to the point they should've renamed the site "strongbad.com" and overtly admitted to his being the main character.

And Homestar is just as funny as he ever was--the death hole, the shades, the yellow paint. Strong Sad was great, too.

The toon isn't the FUNNIEST thing on H*R, but I enjoyed it and I laughed like mad at the whole exchanges between Homestar, Bubs and Strong Sad.

Over the whole "TBC needs to get a writer" bit ... is it just me, or are TBC trying to imply that the whole show "isn't real" and that everyone's just acting it out? You know, like the DVD'd toon commentaries and such.

I got that feeling strongly from this toon and "Where's the Cheat?"

You know, it seems like more and more of their toons are hit-and-miss lately. You look at classics from the Compy era (50-100 especially) and you'll get episodes that nearly everyone would agree are awesome, like Japanese Cartoon, Kid's Book, and Caffeine. Nowadays I see almost every thread has an equal number of posts saying they loved it and saying they hated it. Are TBC getting less universal in their style of humour? Are fans just acquiring different tastes as they grow older? The world may never know.

Hmm, perhaps an F was a bit too harsh, as i seem to recall giving The Lil Brudder Show a D, and this was certainly better than that. So let's switch those two grades.

I really liked this one a lot. A tad short, and not as good as the three latest big toons and Where's The Cheat?, but still a great toon to add to their collection. It's good.

As for the whole hit-and-miss thing, I don't know what that's about. It's pretty much still the same for me, many of the modern ones are just as good, if not better, than many of the "classic" ones. Where's The Cheat?, Big In Mouth Disease, bottom 10, dragon, boring (really), spring cleaning... I love them all! Even Li'l Brudder's okay after repeated viewings...

Your math is off somewhere. ;)

I think that TBC are doing great right now. BCF3, bottom 10, lady...ing, Cool Things. These are all great updates.

Cool Things is near the top of my favorite list.

Man you people are demanding. The Brothers work hours on these free cartoons you snap them down just like that. I don't know what you expect from them but I for one thought this toon was great.

They do it full time. Think of it as a TV show. Those are free too.

I think the reason bottom 10 was great because they didn't have to focus on one thing, and could therefore fit a whole lotta jokes into it.

Toastpaint, my bad.

As long as a lot of other people liked this toon, that means that TBC did their job. I personally was dissapointed, though I did like the concept.

Acutally it would be 90.3 averaged.

You know, when I saw there was a new toon today, I was very excited. But after watching it, I realized that I didn't find it that funny. Which is a shame... cause I wanted it to be funny. It just wasn't about anything cool! But the only thing I laughed at was the easter egg with Strong Bad at the end. Oh well... I'm sure the next toon I'll like better.

What are you talking about? This toon had cool in the title, so of course it was about something cool. Cool tapes are by there very definition, cool. :p

I'm surprised that there are people here who don't like this toon. This is a classic.

Well, I came back from my vacation today hoping for a new Stinkoman Level or a Strongbad Email. But, I get a new toon that is really random. I don't like a lot of it and I don't hate a lot of it. It felt too short as well. Also, the 5th grade thing was used a little too much, in my opinion.

Overall, this deserves a 7/10.

Ups:
-A new Homestar Runner toon.
-Bubs stealing his own paint.
-The Death Hole.
-Marzipan's Smile.

Downs:
-The 5th grade joke was used a little too much.
-Felt a little short.
-Really random.

the jokes about Stan, aka Dripping Yellow Madness, where funny. It seems he left town after the 5th grade when Bubs fired him. Classic humor

Yep those where cool

It was only 3 times, on tv there have been jokes told much more than that

Yeah I agree with you there

Awesomeness, lurved everything about this toon (hence the screen name!)

Best moments:

:marzi: 's smile

:bubs: stealing from himself

:cheat: and :marzi: and :sm: in rock n' roll band!

 : "I wish I had a date with a wall..."

:hr: being the star of the show finally after all those Strong Bad e-mails and :hr: 's "tch tch" noise at strong sad!

:sb: "What? but he moved away in fifth grade"

Classic toon, everything in it was perfect and I can't see why people are so divided on it..... :trogdor: will burninate you!

Just great!
There should have been an easter egg showing SS's date with the wall.
I can picture it!

Dripping yellow madness is such a random name, its good!
And the 5th grade joke, it was great!!

9/10

What we need is a Strong Sad and Wall extra-real dating sim XR.

... Wait, forget I said that. :(

On a scale from 1-Awesome, this toon was fairly great. It was funny, but they could have made it a lot longer.

It was a decent toon. Bug in Mouth Disease was better though. I agree with Jengs, it could've been longer.

I don't mind Strong Bad being in it. He is the site's most popular character after all. At least it didn't focus on him. It's nice to see some focus being put on a lesser used character like Marzipan. We need to see more of Pom Pom, The Poopsmith, and Homsar though. No big deal, but it'd be nice. (I was happy to see that the bonus email on Disc 4 focused on Pom Pom.)

I'd totally trade that for MY cool shades. Some of the stuff Bubs has on hand is bizzare. Almost as bizzare as the cool shades already being in the paint.

I can't understand why everyone loves this 'toon so much, it was okay and had some pretty funny parts but it's for sure not one of the best toons. It's okay though.

Two and one half out of five.

I think one of the Fun Facts on the Wiki points that out.

Oh, is this the part where I say "You know we have a wiki, right?" I'm still fairly new, but I'll learn.

Homestar writes Cool Tapes on the wall, he steals yella paint and cool shades and falls in a Death Hole.

Not the best, but the Death whole made the whole toon worthwhile.

 "What? I'm Strong Sad. Dripping Yellow Madness moved away after 5th grade!"
