No, this thread is focused on a specific idea from it. It's different. Strong Sad would be Tiny Tim, and the ghost of Marly could be.. Senor Cardgage. Now that's a fitting role if there ever was one. |

You think The Cheat and Pom Pom could narrate? Bubs wouldn't be a bad narrator, but people that don't speak any understandable language cannot. |

Now that's a fitting role if there ever was one. I think the Cheat would be a better Tiny Tim. SS could play the role alright, but I think "Tiny" would be a bit of a stretch. Plus, I would love to hear the Cheat say "God bless us, every one." |

![]() Whatabout the theives? That like, stole Ebeneezer's...sheets! Who are they? *coughTheUnguraitscough* Actually, the Ghost of Present was the fat guy. I rest my case. ![]() And, Coach Z strikes me as one of the theives. Coach Z seems like a scavenger, and I think the Unguraits are history. That, and, I think Bubs would make a great Scrooge. He's got the business-owner-obsessed-with-money thing going! |

I think if TBC did a Decemberween Carol, they'd modify it to suit what they have to work with. I think the general ideas of the story would be preserved, but I doubt they'd assign each of their characters to play one of the characters in the original story. They'd end up short-changing themselves--while some matchings would be complimentary and productive (ie, Strong Bad or Bubs as Scrooge), other matchings could potentially limit very good characters (The thieves have a very small part in the story, Coach Z is too good of a character to waste on such a menial role). A truly successful toon of this nature could only be loosely based on A Christmas Carol, following the story too rigidly would sacrifice creativity and humor. On the other hand, the characters could always put on A Christmas Carol as a play, and be matched up accordingly, but then it would be too much like A Decemberween Pageant. |

I actually think it's a terrific idea. I like the original casting in the first post... that was pretty good. There is no need for a narrator, really... Homestar could introduce Scrooge (Strong Bad) or something vocally... and then the story could take off from there. Coach Z coudl do a duo with like Bubs or something as a kind of team narrator device (like in the Muppet Christmas Carol)... I actually love this idea, but I doubt TBC will do it sadly. |

Yes, but Scrooge turns good at the end, and SB would never do that. |

I personally don't want to see SB reform, which is the whole point of the story, so I don't think this would work. And I don't know how you could do a spoof without some kind of reformation without really making everyone mad. Maybe SB could do just one nice thing, just for once. That might work. |

You could do it without him reforming. It'd be the old anti-climactic punchline. After seeing the past, present and future: whoever is playing the ghost of Christmas Future: So, now you see that your wicked ways will only lead you to lonlieness. Will you repent? SB: Pfft, no. *punch* Alternatively, they try to show him the consequences of his actions, but the future ends up with him being rich and having all the ladies, which is not what they planned. |
