A lot of people consider Strong Bad or another character or element of homestarrunner.com more entertaining or important than Homestar himself, and most descriptions of the site acknowledge this.

I personally consider Homestar's humorous presence a crucial element of, well, Homestar. He is the jelly to Strong Bad's peanut butter, and if he weren't sandwiched between the wrestleman, SB's mean-yet-endearing personality and humor would get stuck in my throat. :) (Though I prefer his loud and obnoxious voice from the older toons to his current dumb, softspoken tone.) If he weren't always running around Free Country, USA, who knows? Strong Bad could get old, or even destroy the world. What do you think?

I think Homestar and Strong Bad are equally important parts of the cartoon. Strong Bad just gets more screen time.

Yeah, exactly. The two need each other for the humor.

Strong Bad gets his emails, but Homestar is usually the star of the big toons.

I agree with everyone else - there is no single most important character, but Homestar is probably on an equal footing at the top of the pyramid with Strong Bad. The order of the rest of the pyramid would be up for debate, but getting rid of Homestar would be a ridiculous and terrible thing for the cartoons.

Simply put: if they didn't have Homestar, they'd have to change the name of the website. :D

Seriously though... I don't know how to put it in words, but Homestar and Strong Bad really work together. Like Yin and Yang, Light and Dark, Laurel and Hardy... you get the idea.

Like it's been said--it needs both Homestar and Strong Bad to keep it aloft. They just wouldn't be funny if they couldn't bounce off each other. They may not like it, but I'm betting they ARE friends deep down, in a weird sort of way.

It needs him. Strong Bad needs a counterbalance, someone to bounce off of him, and Homestar is just that person.

If it was just SB, then I don't think it would be as good.
Like, how boring would The Simpsons be with just Homer?
Or Futurama with just Bender? They need their spontaneous funny guys to add an edge that the other character couldn't get.
Bender needs Fry
Bart needs Homer
Strong Bad needs Homestar

Need I say any more?

Homestar is very important. I think without his humor the website would go downhill.

:hr: is actually to me the very funniest part of the site with his adorable but hilarious idiotic sayings and funny voice

However, I don't think he even is aware that it is HIS website...

Yeah and becides it's around because of him. If he weren't there it wouldn't be the same.

I think Homestar is most important.

If you think about it, Homestar can have funny interactions with any character.

Although I find that Strong Bad is only really funny when he talks to certain characters.

But eh.

He's important but not as funny as SB to me. Strong bad would lose a lot of his humour if he didn't have Homestar to pick on. (Strong sad doesn't really count, he knows it's happening to him, while homestar doesn't) Nevertheless if Strong bad just disapeared, I'd stop coming to the website :F

Homestar is almost--almost!--the most important character... Strong Bad takes the title for most important character. Many people only go there for SBemails (and the occasional Homestar cartoon). So there. :sb: > :hr: (Property of Strong Bad being better than Homestar)

same here,
1.If homestarrunner wasn't made a part of the site if would be like StrongBad.com
2.Homestar's humor is the heart of the site if you take out that it will just be strong bad and all those lines that homestar was GOING to say just wouldn't fit on SB

I think he's funny on his own, but funnIEST when bouncing with others. He's kind of a straight man.

I think he's important to the site and it wouldn't be as funny but he's become less important than strong bad. I do think that the humor comes from them bouncing off of each other though. It's like...if the homestar runner makes a stupid comment and no one else is around, does anyone hear it? Nope nope!

homestarrunner.com needs Homestar Runner. Period.

He has a great humor to him, not to mention some actual intelligence if you look for it. Just because a character acts stupid, doesn't mean always that they are actually that dumb.

I mean, he wasn't that stupid when Marzipan kept going on about HR Jr. being alive and talking. He knew it was a sandwich, he knew it couldn't and didn't talk.

And honestly, I think when Strong Bad give him the Double Duece in the sbmail, 'bird', and Homestar said "Right back at you", I think he knew what he was talking about, in a smug sort of way.

Yeah, Strong Bad needs someone to bounce off of. He need a positive force to oppose his negative.

Homestar is that positive.

I would choose number one, but he hasn't really done much for a while. And Strong Bad is really funny too. Oh why Chaps will you not give us Homestar Runner??

I think the most important character is Homeschool, followed by either :trogdor: , :ehsteve: , :homsar: , or :poop: ...

But seriously, I think that Homestar is either more important or equally important as Strong Bad.

I think Homestar and Strong Bad are the perfect 2 main charecters, in that they are like chalk and cheese, which is what makes their comedy incomparible to one another, yet both essential to the website. Besides which, would either even be funny if the other didn't exist?

Without Homestar, there would be no Homsar, then I would be not interested in the cartoon at all.
