Bubs has barely changed except the shading, as has Strong Sad. I guess they look less dated and more consistent with the other characters this way, so I'll put "better."
But my favorite Bubs is this:

Does Bubs and Strong Sad look better with their slightly updated designs or not? I know the differences are small, but I personally think they both were better before. See Bubs's older design; newer design See Strong Sad's older design; newer design |

Well, it's his legs that have changed a bit. They're closer together. Yes, I know I'm all Mr. Picky-about-every-little-thing. |

The "new" Strong Sad has little curlicues on his knees, and his head has a shadow. I can't see any other differences, and none at all between the Bubs's. |
