Compare Strong Bad's voice in an old Compy email, like ghost. Compare that to Strong Bad's voice in an email like replacement. Do you think that Strong Bad's voice has changed. If so, when did his voice change? :sb:

Well, it's definately changed. They made fun of his old voice at the begining of flashback, and he even said "Joo" instead of "you" a few times. But really, it's mostly been a gradual change. Mostly in his accent.

Some reason nowadays when I hear Japanese Cartoon, when he says "So Cool and Email" it sounds sort of.......shallow, with no deeper overtones. But from old to new, there is definitely a fair change. For the case of significant changes in voice, Strong Sad from old and new is a big difference. It was deeper, sharper, and slower.

I always looked at character voice changes and looks changes as them growing up. Especially with Homestar. It's like Homestar hit puberty since the site started.

I liked Homestar's voice way more in Marshmallow's Stand then what it is now. I like how he used to say Strong Bad. If you look in the Jumping Jack toon, you can notice how much Strong Mad's voice has changed.

I think Strong Bad's voice has gotten higher and has less of an accent

Yeah, I saw his other posts. I really didn't have a high image of him from that, but I try to be a little polite to newbies. So I called him a hypocrite instead of a crapface.

But, yeah, I agree, having someone register on the So-And-So Forum just to say "YOU GUYS DON'T BELONG ON THE SO-AND-SO FORUM!" is both hypocritical and displeasing for those on the forum. I mean, I think reality TV sucks rear, but I don't go to some Survivor forum saying, "YOU CRAPHEADS HAVE GOT TO STOP WATCHING THIS SHOW!!!" Why? Because then they'd hate me. And I would rather be hated by people who share my interests. People like here on the HRWiki Forum. Thanks, you guys, for having the same interest in HSR that I do. :)

Yes, we all hate you here! ;)

It's okay though...I've already PM'd a mod about him...

Umm... Anyways, back on topic. I think that really about everybody's voice ahs changed somewhat...
I mean, Homestar's sounds more grown up or something.
And Strong Bad's, well, its gotten to where .. before it was spanish, now it's just deep and gruff mostly. And I love that voice, for some reason it makes me laugh when I hear it.

Yeah, Homestar definitely looks a bit more refined anymore. But I agree with you - it's like the characters growing up. I think Strong Bad "reads" better without the accent. After all, a person as small as Strong Bad having a voice all deep and gravelly like that just cracks me up. But for the cartoons that have the accent, it's part of it, just like when I got that bowl cut in the third grade. It helped define me in that part of my life, like the accent defined Strong Bad in that part of his. The line, "I'm Carmen freakin' Miranda!" wouldn't sound right with the modern voice. Does that make sense?

Ben F. Schumin :-)

I have to say that I like everyone's "new" voices better too. Is it just me, though, or is Strong Mad a little easier to understand now? Maybe I've just grown accustomed to his face... er, voice.

Off-topic: So, a Chuck P. fan, are we, Schumin? ;)

I love Strong Mad's voice nowadays. It's just understandable enough to get, but it's still really funny. It always cracks me up when he says :sm: "I don't want to eat a guitar!"

And Homestar's voice really did change...

So did Strong Sad's.

I think all the characters's voices have changed, but it's especially noticeable with Homestar and Strong Bad.

Maybe it's just higher quality microphones.

Yeah. Why didn't anyone else think of that one? Really. But, they changed the mics around trhe time of email 6. So... maybe not.

Strong Sad's voice is also very regonizable. Just listen to him now, then compare it to his voice in 'A Jorb Well Done'. Huge difference. I think it's a combination of Matt tweaking with the voices to see which ones sonde the best. And with Strong Mads, I'm glad it's easier to understand him. He has some great lines, and they wouldn't be as funny if he wasn't understandable.

Well, the site's been around since about 2000. The changes in voices might just be because of Matt's change in his voice. I mean, every year or voices change a little, so that might be a factor as well.

Over the past 69 years I think that Strong Bad and Homestar's voices have gotten much less low, mature, and gravelly.

But, seriously folks, there has been an obvious change in voice tone and accent of Strong Bad. I like him better this way.

I like all the new voices much more than the old ones. I like Strong Sad much more nowadays because he actually has a personality instead of just being a joke about depressed people.

I think Homestar's voice has changed alot. I mean, he's stopped sying STA-wong BAA-AAD instead of Strong Bad.

Yeah, it's more of a Strwong Bad now. Maybe they just didn't like how the voices sounded and decided to tweak them. They sound better now though.

I think he just made Homestar and Strong Bad's voices less exagerrated.

Well, we do know that he drastically changed Strong Sad's voice to a higher pitch one. If you're going to be whiny and depressing, you need a high-pitched voice. It works best.
