:hr: may have originated partially from Allstar on the television show Snorkes? It may be a possibility...

A couple of things:

1. Welcome to the forum.
2. Please don't use emoticons instead of typing actual words.
3. You raise an interesting point. There's definitely a similarity, there.

Yeah, but I still see a simularity with Allstar.

Well, I don't doubt that some of the attributes of Allstar (such as the star shirt... uh... well, that's all I see) are common in both; I was just pointing out that Homestar didn't originate from the Snorklesinges show.

Oh, okay. Well, Allstar is a terrific athelete, too, and he's got the girl...

You guys realize that we will have to have a duel between Allstar and Homestar, right? :D

The only thing is, that Homestar is probably more of Allstar's baseball counterpart given his origins (and watch the Mario Paint movie in the museum).

But I don't doubt that Allstar may have had a hand in developing Homestar's character and personality(?). (I need to look this guy up ... *goes looking in the Big Wikipedia In The Sky*)

After all, if Star Wars could have been inspired by Flash Gordon, what's to say that isn't the case here?

If you've ever seen the show, there are many simularities between the two cartoons. I'll think of some and post...

Pardon me while I pull an Aunt Josephine* but I've seen you enter simularities in about three posts to what I've counted. It's simalarities, not simularities. I am a grammar freak as well, so pardon the intrusion.

*Aunt Josephine was in Lemony Snicket's The Wide Window. Known for being as much of a grammar freak as she was a scaredy cat.

NO! NOT THE LACHRYMOSE LEECHES! DON'T PUSH ME OUT TO THE LAKE! *Gets pushed out on the lake on a half sunken boat* AIEEEEEEE! Sorry I couldn't resist.

Warning: Do not read unless you need explanation for the joke, or haven't read the book. In The Wide Window Olaf says "Thank you for correcting me." before offing Aunt Josephine in the lake.

It's cool. We don't all have to be the greatest spellers on earth. I feel like a double-dork, you only have to feel like a dork...

Yeah, I've read the books, man. I know all about Count Olaf and his evil doings...

You're both wrong. It's spelt "similarities".
