Strong Bad = Rey Mysterio?

Post subject:  Strong Bad = Rey Mysterio?
Is it just me or do Strong Bad and Rey Mysterio (from the WWE) look a little too alike?

Eddie Guerrero also looks a little bit like Strong Mad.

Watch Marshmellow's Last Stand, and its even based on wrestling, and Strong Bad and Strong Mad are tag-team partners. A person has a sign saying "Wrestling Mania".

Is this all a coincidence?

There's probably some type of connection. I think that with Strong Bad they were going after any Luchador wrestler that wears a mask. And the Wrestling Mania tyhing, well, that's just a play on the famous Wrestle Mania name.

I was in Tijuana last week and there were a bunch of stands selling Mexican wrestler masks. They were pretty hilarious, but none of them looked like Strong Bad. Had I see a Strong Bad one, I totally would have bought it.

Other than the fact that Rey Mysterio Has better physique than SB, they do have similarities: Mask, Pants, Gloves, and the fact that they are both totally cool.

Well, Rey's mask keep changin. He like never wears the same one twice. Maybe Strong Bad was modled after him, or some other type of wrestler. Was Rey even that popular back in 96?

He was with WCW in 1996 and the BROS Chapman supposedly live in Atlanta, which was WCW's home base, so it is possible.

That's who Strong Bad was modeled after. It's called 'Tag-Team Wrestling'

I actually really liked playing tag-team wrestling against my friend. It was really funny watching those little guys, and it was really awesome when you were quickly sorting through the moves and you did one of those special moves on your opponent. I thought it was tons of fun. The only crappy thing was that when you were playing single-player often times the computer controlled opponent would become invincible.

Yeah, I haven't seen that many wrestlers wearing pants.

But Strong Bad seems to be more wearing skin tight black leggings rather than pants

But anyhoo, I don't think that TBC modeled Strong Bad off of Rey, but just some random Luchador they used to watch when they were kids.

I'm pretty sure that they sataed in some interview that they used to watch wrestling when they were younger. But I think that Strong Bad was modeled after the guy with the same name in Tag-Team Wrestling.

Like, one time, I was in Walmart, and I saw a toy of him out of the corner of my eye and I was all like, "Woah!! Was that Strong Bad??!" Then I look and I'm like "Oh dang. Just that dumb Nickelodeon show."
