Seriously, Pom Pom is good for nothing these days. I know that I keep on talking about this crap, but it's true. He's not even Homestar's friend!

You're going to hell for this, I've made reservations for you.
Please, no banishing people to the dark underworld, please? As for Pom-Pom, he just needs a nice, meduim role, like he did in 'Where's The Cheat?'

I really don't want to say Pom Pom is obsolete at this point, but he really is becoming more of an afterthought in the H*R universe. For proof, just look at the Complete Filmography of all the main characters - in number of appearances he's trailed only by Homsar (who's SUPPOSED to be rarely used), The Poopsmith (who's the most limited and least interesting main character on the site by a longshot), and The King Of Town (who's everyone's least favorite character anyway). Every other main character has at least 20 or 25 more appearances than Pom Pom, some far more.

And I'm not sure his lack of proper communication is as much a problem as it's made out to be - the other characters can understand what he's saying and translate it for the audience just fine, and this doesn't stop The Cheat from appearing as much as he does. I think his current lack of friendship with Homestar probably contributes the most, really, and he doesn't seem to be too close to Strong Bad anymore either as he once was. I doubt we'll ever see any of the 12 main characters die out completely as long as the site is up, and Pom Pom will surely be making more appearances (probably in bigger toons), but for now, to me he's more of a reminder of the early, less developed, days of the site than a huge player currently, and I'm fine with that.

The bubbling sound Pom Pom makes is not really a thing that makes him incomprehensible, because Homestar usually repeats everything he says anyway. Like-a so:

Pom Pom: -bubble bubble bubble-
Homestar: You're right, Pom Pom. Hot soup is in my eyes.

I think Pom pom deserves a pizza trophy. I mean, he is friends with both Homestar and SB. How hard can that be to manage? It's like, really hard to manage, I bet.

That is a good point, but if hes BOTH their friends shouldn't he appear in more toons?

I dunno. Just because you're friends with someone doesn't mean you have to be with them all the time. I won't consider Pom-pom obsolete until he disappears for an extended amount of time.

I won't consider Pom Pom obsolete until TBC make a new characters page without him on it. Until then, he's still in the Big Twelve.

The thing is that it's debatable whether Pom Pom is still even friends with Homestar or Strong Bad, judging by his reactions to both in recent E-mails/toons, and that's contributed most. I seriously don't think TBC will ever completely forget about Pom Pom, though. Remember, it's gotta be hard to NOT forget about certain characters with all that goes on in the H*R universe, but I think they do seem to have some method of including those who haven't been showcased in awhile, so I wouldn't be surprised if Pom Pom makes some sort of comeback in the near future.

A Pom-Pom comeback is pretty much what everyone on this forum is waiting for. He needs a toon of his very own that isn't isle of pom.

I love pom pom! :pom: Just look at him, he's awesome. In some of the earlier toons, he seemed to be the voice of reason, and I would love to see him make a comeback. He's a great character.

I do like Napoleon Dynamite, but I was really thinking more along the lines of like just having the characters just, maybe sitting in the marshmallow shop, talking about, well, anything. Just to get in some good character development.

Kind of like Seinfeld!

I don't really like pom-pom. He doesn't do anything funny, really. He just... stands there and... bubbles. And he gets ticked off easy-like. He beat the crappies out of Strong Bad and Strong Bad hadn't even done anything yet! Meh... I don't like high-strung people.

Since emailing Strong Bad didn't work let's send nice friendly letters asking why Pom-Pom is on a decline. Maybe we could start a petition or something. Its probably a horrible idea, seeing as how TBC probably don't take requests, but A lot of us here seems to want it.

That may be a good idea. And we should say to TBC that Pom Pom should hang out with his friends (Homestar and Strong Bad) instead of the less popular characters (Homsar (who is supposed to appear rarely, but he's popular), the King of Town, and the Poopsmith).
