quick question, i mean, maybe i missed a meeting or something, but what's up with everybody in this forum hating :sb:?

i mean, yeah, most of what TBC have put out lately have been :sb: e-mails, but that's because they've got other people giving them the ideas.

which do you think is harder for them to do? write a whole toon that's funny out of nowhere, or read an e-mail someone sends them and go off of that?

i think :sb: is a great character who still has a lot of comedic potential. don't write him off entirely just because every single thing he's been in hasn't been the funniest thing you've ever seen.

they're not all 'Trogdor', or 'Englilsh Paper', but they're still good for a semi-regular Free Country USA fix.

they do a great job with :sb: e-mails, and i think the last batch have actually been more strong than bad.

that lame joke aside, that's my two cents.

but seriously, what's the problem?

thanks.
BrotherGlenn

It's not that most of us are hating on him, it's just the fact that he is used in almost every toon and short everywhere(except a few select ones). He also has the Strongbad email updated a lot making that more Strongbad. What I want to see is more Pom-Pom, more Marzipan, and more Strong Mad. The most popular characters aren't just the ony on who make good jokes. We need to see lesser characters besides Homestar Runner, Strongbad, and Bubs in toons(that's why I loved Saddy Dumpington).

I have never heard anyone on this forum say they hate Strong Bad. There have been people who say Strong Bad is overused, and I agree with that, as he is overused, but in no way do we hate Strong Bad. We just wnat to give all of the other chracters a time to shine.

It does seem like most people think that Strong Bad and his emails are overused. I personally disagree. Strong Bad emails are the best things on the site, and they're what made the site popular. Strong Bad's one of the main characters of the show, so it makes since they use him a lot. Homestar appears in almost every toon.

Nobody really hates him here, though.

Yeah, what they said. We love SB, who doesn't! It's just that some think that he's being over-used at the expence of the other characters, and some other characters are so under-used that we don't see as much of their personalities.

I was wondering when you'd see this, Princess. Theer you have it folks - You say stuff about something, and something will happen to you.

In more descrpitive words, don't say people hate Strong Bad in POS's presence. Good night Africa.

I don't really think it matters which characters are used. It's all funny. My humble opinion.

Well ,its just a genral consensus (not a unanimus vote, but more of an average of the opinions) that SB is overused. We don't want to see Strong Bad hung at the gallows, but at the same time, we want Strong Bad to give other characters time to shine.

What we need is a Homestar Email section. That would actually be pretty funny.

I don't think that would go very good. It would probably be too much like Strong Bad email, and start taking up a lot of updates. Maybe if when Sbemails were first starting, they could've alternated the two, but now I don't think it would work.

I like SB as much as most people, and i hope the sbemails will never totally end for any long period of time, but it is nice to see the other characters get a chance to shine in his absence. I think Homestar and Marzipan's relationship has gotten slightly more complex as a result of Cool Things, and Folky Tale gave us SS and Coach Z together without SB for the first time since, what, Jorb Well Done? Many of the characters, like SB, have so many facets that we don't know what facets are, but without the benefit of a weekly email show, they just haven't had as much of a chance to show them to us. For me personally, I think a good mix would be 1 (occasionally 2) sbemails per month, and low-in-SB or SB-free toons the rest of the time.

I agree almost completely. The only thing I disagree with is the last pat, as it's OK for me if sb has a part in a toon, as long as he's not the main character all of them time. Well put, though.

SB is fine. I don't give a crap about what characters are in what as long as it's funny.

BTW, don't replace characters' names with emoticons. It makes you seem like a stupid ultra-n00b.
