I've heard that the old character list stated that the KOT is Marizpan's dad? Is that correct?

That is what the old site said. Whether or not it's considered canon is up for debate.

In 3 times halloween funjob :marzi: refers to the :kot: as King of town, not dad. I don't think so.

So? Lots of kids refer to their parents by name instead of honorary.

Also, in the answering machines, the KOT doesn't say anything like "it's your dad" or anything, he just says "it's the king of town"

I really can't see The KOT being Marzipan's dad, there's no family resemblence and anyway where's the mother?

What, like the Brothers Strong have a ton of family resemblance?

And news flash, not every kid has a mom in the house.

Well, actually, they do have a family resemblance! Have you noticed that they both don't have arms or legs? Other than that, well, you'd have to go with IJ's thing.

Wait, what? They all have arms and legs. And there's three strong brothers.

I meant Marzipan and The KOT. They both don't have arms or legs!

I don't rightly know whether or not the KOT and Marzi are related, but I shouldn't think it would matter. I think that TBC put the KOT as Marzipan's dad, because at that point, they had no clue with what to do with him. As time went by, the ideas of father-daughter segments became simply too cheesy to use, but they found a new use for the guy. As a fat, lonely loser that isn't cool, knows it, but everyone still loves him. Much like a fat version of Woody Allen. Now that they had that, do they really need a father figure in him when they already have his personality? YA CAN'T TAKE AWAY HIS PERSONALITY!!! I WON'T LET YOU!!! Besides which, it's always OK for parents to be missing or killed. Disney do it all the time. I mean, who didn't cry when Bambi's mum died? I was only, like, four at the time... but still..Disney movie..you don't expect that kind of abuse.
Anyway, in my personal opinion, whether or not the KOT really is Marzi's dad is irrelevant. Both can thrive without each other.

Maybe... neither of them have upper limbs, but neither does homestar, so does that mean homestar is realated..to..marzipan..?

Thats gross.

What? no, of course they have arms. Everybody (on the show) has arms. What's wrong with you? :)

Seriously though, Marzipan holds a much closer resemblance to Bob Ross than to :kot: or :hr:

Well, there are a few things that stick out 2 me on the subject...

*In one of the Answering Machines (#6, i think), he asks her to show him how to be cool, and I know from personal experience, my dad does that to me a lot lately (cuz I'm a teenager, i guess)...but then again, the KoT SORT of does that to SB in 3 Times Halloween Funjob.

*And speaking of 3THF, after the KoT eats the lights, she grumbles angrily and says something along the lines of "gets on my nerves" like a "typical" child/teenager/offspring does with their parents, but there aren't that many instances of him bugging her (but I bet I'm overlooking something  )...but every family's different, so who knows

I thought I'd just point out those 2 instances how I see them, get them off-a my chest

In 3THF, Marzipan says crap for the first time! First time she's ever cursed.

I have another peice of evidence that supports :kot: being :marzi: 's dad
They both have a very messed up relationship with food.

:kot: seriously has a problem distinguising inanimate objects from food.
:marzi: seriously has a problem distinguising food from animate objects (tofu homestar; hometar jr.; the cooked turkey in Yello Dello.. you know, cuz she jumped to a pretty fast conclusion.. the only kind of food that does not appear to confuse :marzi: is parsnips and iced tea. But draw a face on a parsnip and she'll probably start having deep meaningful conversations with it...

I like the way PP's 11 put it.

Homestar : Is Marzipan really your daughter?
The King of town : I honestly can't remember.

I personally would say no.

Mostly because in Strong Bad's flashback, when the "Young, Svelt, Prince of Town." is present, Marzipan is an adult. I would majorly doubt that the KoT, who is established to be the former PoT, would have had Marzipan that long ago.

I think the brothers just decided to change that part of the back story, because it simply didn't fit anymore.

Marzipan wasn't an adult in the flashback, but I agree. I don't see how she could have been the KOT's daughter when he was the POT. She wouldn't have been alive back then if she really was the King Of Town's child. I think we can safely say that TBC dumped/forgot this fact and that Marzipan and KOT aren't related.

Just a thought- what was the url to the second characters page? The yearbook one? It was probably the first thing I saw on the site, and I can't find it at all. Did it mention :kot: and :marzi: 's relationship?

No, not that one. I'm talking about the yearbook. It came between the spotlight thingy and the new videotapes.

Question 1: How many girlfriends does Pom Pom have?

Question 2: How times better is Homestar Runner from the best person in the world?

Question 3: "Marzi" Can be found swimming with dolphins where?
